I have been contacted by another programme interested in contact with people who need help finishing their homes, principally victims of Paul Bridle, but not necessarily just him, for a new series.

I've PMd jonnyjett and will pass on the names of anyone else in a similar position.

Wow Mike, will you still be my friend when you are a global phenomenon (and I can't say thet word outloud without tripping over my tongue! I can say phenomenal however!)

Anyhoo, just popped on to add to Aylana's ideas... we seem to have a lot of knowledgeable people on here, and I'm first to hold my hand up and admit this isn't an area I know much about... However I do know that most professions have regulatory bodies... so finding out their thoughts would be a good starting place.

Also, there are many web-sites that will now find you a tradesman in your area. You post saying what you need and they get in touch with you. It might be an idea to find out from these sites if they have any type of vetting system or if any-one can post.

Whatever we do, I think if we can link into the governing bods that already exist, we'd have a stronger, more confident and expert voice.

I knew someone had posted of problems before and had still supported Mike with his e-mail campaign, just thought it would be nice to return the support!.....You're on my Christmas card List Happy! :A

Merrywidow... I looked at travellodge but apart from poor reviews, they quoted £42 per night for week beginning 14/6/10 - week ending 18/06/10

Most B&B's are running out of single rooms so a supplement is added for doubles.

Been looking and ringing round all day, if you have any good places available, give me a nod in the right direction!

Sorry you are having trouble finding a room. There must be lots of B&B that are not on the Net. Maybe Mike could make an exception and check out a few near him.

Not sure exactly which days I am coming down yet and have been struggling to find accommodation close by at a reasonable price. However my other half does some work in that area & was telling one of his hotels about this thread and what was going on.

They have said "The White Horse at Storrington (12 miles out off Littlehampton) have said they will offer very special deals to anyone working on the DIY SOS project. Just phone 01903 745831 and say your with DIY SOS for a quote"

Don't know exactly what the offer will be but 12 miles isn't too far me thinks!

(He did also mention that he was slightly concerned about me going off on my own to meet up with a load of strangers but I explained that we are all still relatively normal!!!)
