I prefer to be the one offering the help because I know I won't feel 'indebted' afterwards..

I so know where you're coming from! I always refused help because I didn't want to be burden to anyone, thought I ought to be able to do things myself, etc.

I've come to realise that some people love to help, love doing tasks I struggle with, enjoy the social side of meeting and getting to know people which they do while helping, and maybe for some people it boosts their confidence. I don't know the people on this list so I can't say where each is coming from, you'd have to judge that for yourself (no offence anyone!)

Anyway what I mean to say is, sometimes accepting help is actually doing a favour to the other person. (I love to be asked for advice, LOL). (But only if it's something I feel I'm knowledgeable about ;)).

House pics would be great, if you're happy to post them.

    Hi mike

I've been following your thread and really hope things get better for you.

I have noticed a few times how you refer to yourself has being unlucky or how you seem to attract the bad stuff - I know your depression probably exacerbates those feelings, but even so, I thought you might find this interesting:

The key point here is the ability to recognize opportunity. I would like to echo Happytogetdebtfree and encourage you to take up the offers of help provided here - there is no point remaining as you are and saying that the universe is trying to teach you a lesson when you have been given a unique opportunity to improve things for yourself.

Not having a go - just hoping to help you see things from another perspective.

Hope things get sorted for you - sending you an encouraging, be positive hug.

That makes a lot of sense!

OK for those who asked... some pix of the house as it was when I got the keys, the work the builder did, how he left it, how I'm living in it now and a couple of pix of the outside.

    The frontage is lovely.

Do you still have the hole in the roof?

Was the house meant to be completely finished by the builder i.e. bathrooms/kitchen fitted etc.
