    What a horrible experience!

We should all get into the habit of complaining on someone else's behalf.

I bet they'd take note of a letter along the lines of ' I was waiting to discuss paying my recent large inheritance into your bank, but was so horrified by the treatment of a distressed pregnant customer that I shall take my business elsewhere'.

Perhaps it's time for you to go back and stand outside distributing leaflets to all their customers explaining that they can claim their charges back and how to do it!

complain to the manager about the charges and demand a meeting with them!!
halifax charged me £270 for being overdrawn for 3 days when we had a mix up on our account (ok our own fault) the csa would only refund £90 so i demanded a meeting with the manager to sort it out. i got an appointment for the next week, and on the morning i was due to go in to see them got a phone call to say they would refund all the charges!! i think the manager was too busy to see me or something, but hubby was well impressed

Hiya, what an awful experience. I remember when TSB in Bootle did this to my mum. She was left in tears less than a few weeks after coming out of hospital with cancer, so i decided to go and have a word. Now, being a trade unionist, the 1 thing I am good at is arguing. So i berated the CSA in the middle of the bank, then read in that evenings paper, that they where due to get an award, and there was going to be a big presentation there next day. SO, i called up a few union friends of mine, and we got our placquards and picketed outside the shop, with megaphone and everything, letting everyone around know how we had been treated. I also did give lectures on bank charges, funnily enough, they called the police, who said we could protest but not make so much noise. Anyway, there presentation was ruined.
Write to head office, if you want me to do it PM me and then you can just sign the letter, i would also go speak to your MP and ask them to send a letter to head office. This is very effective, minimal amount of work on MPs part, and a happy constituent who will tell others how helpful MP was.

Reflecting, maybe i should offer a rent a picket service to make extra cash

Quite irnoic really, the Halifax having their nice new adverts showing their staff dancing about being all that customer service should be and then at the end of the day being rude, breaking the DPA all of which are not condusive to the well being of a 43 week pregnant woman. I am guessing that it is visible to everyone so it would have served her right if you had of just broke your waters there and then, so you could have had an even better complaint letter to write.

I agree that the letter needs to be sent and maybe your OH not going in there will only help your case. At least you now know where not to put your child trust fund into. Congrats on the baby, any day now surely?

    Hi Jo_R

Just wanted to offer my support really. what an awful experience you've had. Hope you are relaxing this evening and putting it all out of your mind until you are ready to make a complaint.

:grouphug: that wouldn't have been easy for me and I am not pregnant or have a small child tagging along.

Tomorrow is a new day :coffee:
