http://www.nationwide.co.uk/hpi/House prices slip in the winter snow during February
- House prices fell by 1.0% month-on-month in February
- Price decline may be explained by snowy weather and expiry of stamp duty holiday
- Too early to say whether February’s drop is start of a new trend

Some good news for all those FTB'rs out there, this must mean in those 7% of postcodes that were rising, that the snow must have been particularly bad.:D
In all seriousness, this isn't surprising, perhaps now it may start to leak out to the masses that rises in prices in the majority of areas just never existed in the first place.0 -
Ohhh my god.. a thread about house prices not posted by Hamish.
Seriously though, the cold weather would put people off buying too... so while even im a bear i'll reserve judgement until it drops at least a few months in a row. Whats ironic is im starting to look to buy lol.0 -

Why does snowy weather have any impact ? Are they implying that the snow only affecting the sales of bigger/higher priced houses ? I thought the mix adjustment factors account for this.
Clutching at straws for reasons, rather than admitting prices are just simply falling because they are too expensive.0 -
House Prices crash 1% in February

The BBC are spinning it as usual
However to be honest i think the Haliwide figures are a load of nonsense showing the UK average based on very very low transactions.0
