Hello I know there's this thread and the one over at HUKD but I was wondering whether someone can post a list of essential apps, I read through both threads in the past, my Desire only just arrived yesterday. I'm new to smart phones as I've been using a Samsung E900 these last few years!

There's a few that I want like the one that tells football scores (is it called footmob?), also the app that allows you to lock the phone if its lost (I think i's called wave secure). Also the app that's like a pedometer also records speed etc..

Others that I want: all the essential google aps like google earth
    any good games
an ep that helps conserve batter
an app that allows me to kills unwanted apps

    Any help is appreciated,

    thanks

Can anyone help me with a couple of issues I am having with phonebook and people listing.

First issue I have is that I have imported all contacts from Outlook - there, these are all stored as Surname,Firstname - however the desire has these stored as FirstName,LastName and while I can alter them individually I can't find a setting to let me change this on mass.

Second issue - I have created a group of contacts- of people I need to send my new number to - however some of these contacts have "send message to" for both a mobile and a landline number - hence I have sent texts to landlines as well as mobiles - can't see anyway of editing this to have mobiles only

    Any help appreciated
  • Does anyone have an idea when o2 are releasing their prices? I want to avoid T-mobile if possible (though their internet allowance is appealing...!)

I think I read somewhere is was the 28th April. I'm interested in this also - T-mobile no good for me due to coverage.

Have seen a good deal on Orange but never used them before so don't know if coverage would be as good as Vodafone/O2 (I live in Liverpool).
  • I'm also interested in O2. Anyone with a Desire, have you used Google Goggles yet and done visual search? That is one of the coolest apps I have seen in a while.

3 will be selling unbranded and hopefully unlocked HTC Desires on PAYG from 20th April.

Price: £350 (this is the cheapest price I've seen so far...)

    I have the hero.

Here are a couple of web sites I found useful.

They are hero based ..But android is on desire so I would think many of the tips would be just as useful.

One thing I've found is that I really dislike the desire's connector, it feels like its easy to damage teh phone inadvertantly, has anyone found a good docking station yet?
