can i ask why did you order a legend, im looking at getting the legend but waiting for orange to get a move on

Just think its a bit sexier  Seriously though, found the Desire a bit unwieldy in the hand, this has been quoted as a very nice piece of kit in the hand, so we'll see :D

Does anybody know if it is possible to connect the desire to decent speakers?

I am looking at this as an alternative to getting an iphone as it works out much cheaper but would be interested in hooking up to speakers/dock if possible in the same way as you could with an iphone.

Anyone tried this or has any experience - I imagine you could hook something up with the 3.5mm jack but am unsure whether there's any decent quality speakers out there.

    Many thanks.

    My 2 pence worth:

Round one. Got on the phone to Orange and came off a very unhappy bunny :(

After doing my usual 'ive been with you 10 years, done my research, seen a great deal with T-Mobile' rubbish, told the guy who i was speaking to (Jamie in retentions) that im after the HTC Desire and interested in the Panther tariff as its unlimited internet on an 18 month contract.

Well after a minute or 2 he comes back with this -

    Panther 18 months
    400mins
    Unlimited Texts
    Unlimited Internet
    50 Photo Messages
Free Handset - £35 per month!!! (Total spend £630)

When i said thats terrible ive been offered something much better with T-Mobile, wheres my loyalty and discount for my spend with you? he said well i've knocked off the price of the handset so thats saved you £50 - i nearly laughed at him. After spending the next 10 minutes arguing the toss with him and then telling him i could get a £20p/m tariff for 18 months with paying £100 upfront with T-Mobile he got all shirty with me and said its because of the cost of the handset and its a panther tariff with high data allowance and it'll be cheaper on the Dolphin with a 500MB data cap. At this point i had the right hump and told him to tell me what he could do on the Dolphin tariff. After some very vague information i pinned him down to this

    Dolphin 18 months
    600 mins
    Unlimited texts
    500MB Internet
    Free Handset - £25 p/m (Total spend £450)

Which i thought was actually pretty good but seeing as i want the unlimited data and didnt get why the panther tariff was so much more (and the fact this guy already suggested i take my PAC number!) i said no and got off the phone with the hump

After a nice de-stressing cuppa i decided to give it another go and try and either get a better deal or find out why the Panther tariff was so much more. Spoke to Louise this time in retentions. After giving the speech again and telling her how unhappy i was with the last conversation she went away and a couple of minutes later came back with the following. Now she started by saying this is the best deal i can give you and its a 24 month contract and i very nearly told her i wasn't interested before i heard it -

    Panther
    800 mins
    Unlimited Texts
    Unlimited Internet
    50 Photo Messages
Free handset - £20 per month!!!!! :T (Total cost of £480 over 2 years)

Needless to say i took her hand off for it.

Got her to text through details confirming offer. I'll receive the handset Friday now :) Im totally chuffed to bits
Comp wins 2010 (Feb onwards) - loads of books, CD, Toys, Photographic lighting rig, Mobile phone, 16GB ipod Nano, Digital camera

    Comp wins 09 - £4500, 08 - £345.70!
