I got 2 great cookery books yesterday from Cs, Ken Homs rice and noodles book and a one pot/slo cooker book. Both had lovely cheap recipes. Tiday I opened a knitting kit that I picked up weeks ago for 50p and it had one of those loopy boards in it for making scarves - didnt even know it was included so guess what Im making later!

A lovely lady on Freecycle gave me a huge lemon balm plant, a buddleia, and fuschia and forsythia cuttings. I also got to cuddle her two gorgeous dogs, bonus!

Also my awesome dad went out and picked a ton of wild garlic, packaged it up carefully and posted it over to me and I've potted it off, lots for me and some to give away.

I found a really sweet vintage Pyrex gravy boat with saucer, white with a little blue pattern, in the charity shop on Friday for 50p, and an Ainsley Harriot cookbook for 50p, so I've done well over the last few days :)

Yesterday we went to pick up a 3 piece suite that we had won on e-bay. I was prepared to go up to £250 - we got it for £71. YAY!!:T:T It is absolutely immaculate and comes with 2 sets of loose covers. The sellers also gave us all the throw cushions and a huge wicker chest that they kept the spare covers in :D.

On the way home we called into my Mums and she gave me a summer coat, a blouse and 2 net curtains - oh! and some lunch!! :rotfl::rotfl:

We went to Aldi this morning....first time Ive been out to a shop in ages and used my chair even though its like an assault course in there but found some frugal finds. Vacum packed beetroot (big packs) were 39p...so grabbed 6 as we have it weekly with salads, cherry toms punnet 39p, dirty new pots 39p a bag, spring onions 39p, 3 garlics 39p. Also I found a non-bio liquid which does 28 washes for £1.75 and smells nice too. They also had a pork fillet marinated with chilli and garlic with a 50% label on it, so that was £2.45, but looks lovely. They were also giving away jars of their jam as they had short dates. So we got a free sour cherry, strawberry and a raspberry one. We were allowed up to 6 but wasnt going to be greedy:D

Got enough Tesco vouchers (now use their CC for everything) and have enough for 3 tickets to a zoo up near where we holiday very cheaply in friends caravan:j:j

I bought DD a pair of 99p shorts off Ebay which came this morning. They smelt a little musty (sp), so went to put them in the WM...checked the pockets as I always do and there was a 10 Euro note in there. I emailed the lady and she said that she had bought them from someone else and they didnt fit so put them back on Ebay and has said that DD can keep the money:T:T:T....thats about £10 isnt it????

I was well chuffed yesterday when looking in my wardrobe for some summery clothes to wear and i found a brand new (complete with labels still on!) mango vest top. I was really suprised it fitted me as i've put on a bit of weight, im assuming i bought it when i was really skinny and it was too big and knowing me i obviously couldnt be bothered to return it!

    Hi all,
I don't post often but was inspired by this thread. I found a book in charity shop on Saturday. It was one of my favourite authors and I have read all her others! Only cost £2!!! Also was given a lovely bunch of flowers by a friend on Friday.
Had to have my appendix out as an emergency a couple of weeks ago, so have been feeling a bit sorry for myself. Saved loads of money though, because I can't drive yet and live 5 miles from town. I have only been able to go out when my DH or if a friend gives me a lift.
Love penny pincher's story. I have bought loads of things from ebay but never found any money!

Just 'happened' to drop into the charity shop today as I was in town & was delighted to find a linen cloth embroidered with crinoline ladies for the grand total of £1.79.
Double delight: I can spend a few happy hours adding to the embroidery (& covering the few tiny marks on the cloth at the same time) then it will look amazing in my shabby-chic breakfast room.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
