Picked up 3 pairs trousers, 2 skirts, 1 jumper for me and a jacket for DS1 all for the bargain price of £3.50 on Wednesday. Then today I was taking somethings to the skip and found a fantastic old fashioned bureau which I was able to get them to load into the car for £5. Looks fab now I've washed it - even better when I've had a chance to polish it.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
After nearly six months living in this house I finally decided today it was time I tackled the garden. I rummaged around in the garden and found some tools left over by the previous occupants that I didn't even realise we had - a trowel, fork thing, a different fork thing (see how much I know about gardening?) and a rake. Plus a window box and a few flower pots. I was well pleased not to have to go out and buy tools.0

Never posted before but have been lurking for a few years. I have found many great items the past couple of weeks that I am very excited about and can't stop looking at them because they are items we have wanted for a while but were too tight to buy them!
A companion set ( I think that's what they are called) for a fire place with poker, shovel, brush etc £6 from charity shop in mint condition.
A expresso maker that you put on the stove £4.99 from charity shop looks like new. They are £25 in the shops.
Also just come back from a week (well monday to friday) at Centre Parcs. Normally very expensive but got a 4 bedroom lodge for £320 which sleeps 8. There were two families so, £160 per family. Used the pool all the time which you don't have to pay extra for. Lots of other activities are an additional cost.0 -
Hi everyone

Ive not posted on here for ages but yesterday I got a pair of Next tab-top curtains for £3.99 from the charity shop. I was so pleased as they are new cream (lined) with pale blue and beige ruffles on the lower edge.
I was going to cut them up for bags but when I saw how nice they were I using them in my bedroom
I forgot to say the size of the curtains are 66'' x 72'' so a bargain

I've been slicing up my fabic remnants to make a 'string' quilt (details here http://loftcreations.blogspot.com/2010/01/while-abby-sleeps.html)
& found some lovely floral fabrics in the CS to add to my collection.
OK, right now they looked like an apron, a tabard, a set of HM napkins and a shirt, but when I've finished they'll add colour & depth to the quilt blocks :jI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Today I had a free coffee @ work, just make it yourself in the staff room.
A freebie in the post, well they claim it is a prize. I had to answer questions on the product and when you got them all right you won. It took me 2 goes as the first time I got 10/11 and the second time all correct. Congratulations, you are a Nikwax winner! Please find enclosed your free sample of Tech Wash Travel Gel. It is a 100ml tube, so quite big for a freebie. It is to wash waterproof clothing. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
