    Hi There

Most of our furnityre was left behind on purpose by the previous owner of our house, we were given quite a bit of furnature and got a bookcase from freecycle.

The best in OH point of view is all the demi Johns and brewing buckets he has got from charity shops, freecycle etc.

I would always rather reuse than get new - our house is a little shabby but really comfy and we are happy as we are

    Trin

Our house seller left us some stuff which was part generous because some of is still serviceable and tidy and the rest saved him hiring a skip. :rotfl:

I was short of a rug though until last weekend someone had put one out for the bin. I expected it to be a bit worn but it is like brand new!

Brewing equipment we still need to find so, if the brewing fairy is reading who knows.:rotfl:

    Good luck.

A new (to me) bedside chest with 3 drawers for £4.99 from the Samaritans shop.

Seventies cream melamine, but in perfect condition. I've got a piece of Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen swirly cream and gold wallpaper (free sample from B&Q) to go under a piece of glass to make a new top and I hope there'll be enough to cut out 3 little discs to stick in the inset bit of the large cream plastic knobs!

It matches up with the floor-to-ceiling-run of wardrobes I inherited with the house that are in such good nick and are so capacious it would be a crime to chuck them! I've worked around them and love the room!

    Very pleased:)

I got a boho chic long style skirt from a CS for £1.50 I had been looking for, and a pair of Next Linen trousers for £3, also a pair of jeans for £3.

A console table for the hallway from a CS that specialises in furniture for £15, the guy was so pleased to get a sale he gave me the mismatched floral plates I wanted for free! Also got a welsh dressed from e bay for £35, if she could see it now, she would want it back!

Got a brand new large lamp with a dark red shade that matches our living room perfectly from freecycle, and got a full set of cake decorating nozzles, and some rods for putting voile panels up at windows too. Haven't done too badly really! x
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

I picked up a gorgeous dining table and chairs on freecycle yesterday. It will need to be restored, but I'm more than happy to do that.

I also picked up some bottles on freecycle this evening which I am going to clean up and give to my brother to make elderflower champagne in... at least I have a hope of getting some of it this year if I provide the bottles!!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • Hubby found a bag of books in the bin store at work, last week he found a toy dog.

I found two small spuds in the ground when I was weeding a bed in the allotment. Now normally I'd just go "tut-tut" and resolve to clear the beds better during spud harvest next time but these spuds were of a special exotic tri-coloured variety (Mr Little's Yetholm Gypsy) that I'd grown some years ago so I was well pleased to find them. I'll plant them up in pots and cherish them.

  • I bought some Men Bahving Badly DVDs in Poundland a few weeks ago, they only had series 2, 4 & 5 though...today I found series 1, 3 & 6 in the CS, I couldn't believe my luck! Also boug ha M&S denim skirt for £3.99 and a Per Una top for £1.99 so a good thrifting day:). Good fun reading about everyone else's finds, thanks OP.
