Thank you for the leeks information - I've copied down lots of ideas to try now.
I got lost on trying a "title" search for anything - as I'm also looking for ideas on what to do with broad beans.
Has anyone got any ideas on this please? - or is there an existing thread (I have looked - but cant find one for that either).
I vaguely remember from somewhere or other that it is possible to make a sort of hummus with broad beans. I am also looking for any other ideas anyone has on what to do with them please.0 -
Have you tried habas fritas? ( deep fried broad beans ). Not brilliant for the cholesterol but really tasty and a great snack with drinks (thinking christmas here).0

I love them served in parsley sauce, and/or with bits of fried bacon.
A weirdly good cold salad is pasta, cooked broad beans and very finely sliced onion half-moons - dressed with natural yoghurt with salt and pepper and a good spoonful of dijon mustard.0 -
I love broad beans, particularly done Greek-style in a herby tomato sauce.
I also use them in a risotto, flavoured with lemon, to go with plain grilled or fried fish. If you use the water you cooked the broad beans in to make the risotto it gives it a lovely flavour - it does turn the risotto pink, though, for some reason!
I love your idea of deep-fried broad beans, gingin - I've bought these ready made but it had never occurred to me to try making them myself. I'll have to try that one!Back after a very long break!0 -
