Excercise wise it is allways better to do a bit of muscle building mixed in with cardio. The cardio helps burn off calories whilst you excercise. While the extra muscle from weights, etc increases your resting metabolism and burns off even more calories.
At the end of the day any exercise over and above the usual daily routine is good for you. Fat loss can only be attained by burning more calories than you eat in a day. As mentioned above by either extra exercise, less food or ideally a mixture of the 2.
Also why not have the odd extra off topic thread in the board? How often do people stray elsewhere and feeling healthier can lift your mood and low feelings. I can say for sure that it helps me feel a bit brighter when all the cash !!!!!! is hitting the fans.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Oh, are exercise DVD's any good. I have a Rosemary Conely one I need to try which has exercises for all over. I also cycle 3 miles a day 3 days a week, cycle when I want to (outside of uni during the week) and walk about 7 miles a day whilst at uni. Is this enough exercise or do I need more? I'm a student so it needs to be cheap, and I'm not getting a Wii just for Wii Fit.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

DGJSAVER - Spinning is a class where all the participants have stationary cycles and the class evolves around cycling.
NOSELFDISCIPLINE - Yes, i should have it sorted, but theres all sorts of reasons for people putting on weight, and i don't think i need to go through that, to please you
SAVINGMUMMY - Yes, PT's do get paid a lot, if you can find work
TUDORFAN- cardio and toning with weights is good, you need to do a mixture of both, as for bingo wings, any tricep exercises, swimming is good.
ELFEN - I'd recommend the Davina DVD

Can you recommend high energy, vegetarian foods? I run a lot but think that my energy levels may be related to food - I do have a varied, healthy veggie diet but wonder if there are some foods that I should be eating or avoiding?Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

Skint-at-19...I know you are trying to help (and it's lovely of you to want to), but I think it is quite careless to offer such help over an internet forum.
In this situation, you are unable to understand underlying health conditions of the people you are trying to help. Therefore, as a result, you could advice them to do a form of exercise that would make their existing health condition worse.
Please be careful. xFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0
