    Surveys received back, all ok.

Still awaiting mining survey report but I'd be flabbergasted if that shows any problems!

One thing that is mentioned is that Radon Gas is present (I believe this comes from Mining, in which case most of this area will be in the same situation as this area was, at its peak, one of the biggest mining areas in the country, if not the world to be fair).
I don't think the one causes the other, it is a natural product of the geology. There are guidance limits and any problems are usually surmountable. Check back though this site, I think it has been discussed on here recently. Failing that Google it. You can also check with the LA as to where it really is a problem and what to do about it.

You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

Most solicitors have information booklets regarding Radon, well they do in this area, speak to yours to see if they can provide you with any more info.

Drainage search received 16/08/06 - no problems shown.

RBS have written to my g/f's employer for an "income reference", her boss returned this to RBS on 16/08/06.

    Not long now, hopefully!

I'm soooo nervous that they will turn around and tell us that they won't offer us a mortgage, in fact I'm sh*tt*ng house, not bricks!

Mining search back today, nothing to worry bout on there, just toldme what I already knew to be honest:

    It's in a mining area
Last activity was 1979 (thanks to Maggie Thatcher (and in part to Mr Scargill...grrr!)
Movement would have settled down now
No reports of subsidence claims ever recorded.

So, that's all my surveys now I think, just waiting for mortgage offer (hopefully tomorrow, and then it's full steam ahead!!!)

    WHOOOHOOO!
  • HI, just wondering if you have had your mortgage offer yet?

Nope, STILL waiting, although I've today had the valuation confirmation thingy through from RBS and all is ok, their valuer has valued it at what we're buying it for.

To me, the fact that they've had a valuation done is a good sign...!

    ARGHHH!

    STILL no offer!

I'm getting more and more p*ssed off by the minute.

In my opinion, my broker isn't chasing them enough. I know he has other clients, but his other clients are not my problem, I'd like him to be on the phone to the lender every hour or so, the more he chases them, the quicker they'll get fed up of him and [hopefully!] get my offer done quicker.

I'm soooo annoyed at the moment.

its absolutly pathetic 3+ weeks to wait for the offer, it could start to hold things up if it double that, rbs are very very very slow
