Anyone who has been reading for any amount of time has a mental reflex to capital letters as it signifies the start of a new sentence/concept. I don't mean to be rude, but it's kinda antisocial to type with caps at the start of every word.
I've noticed a few posts like this lately - with the suggestion that it's in some peculiar way 'cool'.
I suppose if 'cool' means nobody bothering to read your posts, that's cool then.

In a former life, I had some army training.
This was back in the days of police whistles & a two way radio the size of a gap year back pack. We used paper & pencil.

BTW When one stumbles upon a thread like this, is it possible to click something that gives the path to its location within the forum (eg Utilities > Water).0 -
I thought I'd read on here that the posting with capitals on every word is caused through accessing the forum on a mobile. Some sort of software glitch?0

My local Morrisons reduces oven fresh items around 45 minutes before close, then reduces them again around 20 mins before close.... I regularly get 4 pies for 25p or less... in fact on Bank Holiday Monday, I managed to get 6 bags of shopping from the oven fresh and bakery department for a massive £3.68!!!
My local Asda, which I am also blessed to live very near, has differing times for reductions.... around 3pm for first reductions on meat or fresh items, reduced for a second time at around 4.30pm, then finally reduced at around 9pm, the times are similar with fruit. Bread is reduced through the day for prepackaged items and at around 8.30pm for bakery items, 9pm final reductions. Last week I bought a silverside joint that started off at £13.56 for a huge £1.28!!! And lots of different fruit and veggies for just 2p a pop.... I bring it home, prep if necessary and freeze!!Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs

I used to work in Asda (Birchwood, Warrington) and they reduced the items to ridiculously cheap a couple hours before closing. I remember I was on till 5 minutes before closing on Sunday and this 1 woman came and gave me about 20 reduced cakes - 10p each. We also used to get really cheap 'hot' chickens if they were still available - had to rush to my locker though lol.
The best bargains in Asda - 50p Organic chicken, 2x 40p uncooked sliced chicken (enough for 2 in curry).
The best time for reductions - not long before closing on Bank Holidays or New Year's Day, managed to get 2 very large steaks at 99p each and 2 taste the difference medium sized steaks at 99p. I find Sainsburys to be more stingy than Asda in reducing things - at least at my store, probably cause it goes so quickly!0 -
Not sure if it works on all offer items in waitrose. But I bought 2 x organic raspberries reduced to 35p a punnet and it took £1.98 off my shopping :jas they where on offer which I did not know.
Makes an excuse to go back again. They have fabby reductions. Due to the bad weather earlier on in the week. I managed to get punnets of cherries/blueberries/StrawberriesRaspberries for between 25p-35p each. Retailing for beween £1.99-£3.49 each.
Bags of salad items for between 25p-25p. So guess what I have been eating :rotfl: Did freeze some of the berries for later.
Also managed to get some ready made shepherds pies for 39p each instead of £2.39 each
And even got pro-plus for 10p a packet still in date until jan 2012 normal price £2.29 and they seem to reduced already sliced expensive bread down to 19p for standard loaf.
So if you have a local waitrose don't forget to have a quick peek.

Shopping with my mum who is 70 and just got out of hospital.she was tired and I had waited for her near a till -it was near the reduced counter.a lady in front of me picked up all 3 packs of meat put on by assistant,oh well ,thought I.the assistant was going backwards and forwards to shelves and put more things out,so I got a packet of steak for 70p.very happy. Then mum said ,I forgot xxx and as she was tired I nipped to get it and she waited for me.When I got back she said I got some meat."oh good"I said and went to pay.She had picked up about 8 packs of reduced items and I didnt realise until we unpacked at home, great for the freezer and we ate well this week. Now I understood the darkly muttered comment about leaving her in a good spot and my mum had felt disappointed I had not examined her trolly well before we left the counter.another time we joined a q and realised it was the shop assistants reducing things beside the till.I asked politely if they were reducing a pack of olives and they were,so we put back the full price one and had a bargain at 1/2 price-although the staff were reducing several things we only wanted one'However as we spent over a hundred pounds this week in one store it was nice to get a bargain and why not?.One Christmas a woman was pushing staff to reduce items and taking everything,I feel that this is not fair to staff and almost harassment. There are times I feel really sorry for the staff, and times when everyone is pushing I don`t go near the reduce items as it is too much.0

I visited Waitrose for the first time ever this week, and although I'm massively anti supermarket and hate shopping in general it was an almost pleasant experience, though obviously where the 'well-heeled' of the area go. Nice and bright and clean, obviously good customer training, ie no shouting to each other, no clogging aisles chatting etc etc, and nice wide aisles. However I couldn't find any whoopsie cabinets - I could see a few reductions round the store so wondered maybe if they don't put them all in one place , just mix them up with other items that are the same type? Can someone let me know - maybe I've just missed it but never have done in other shops. (This was Buxton by the way)
Thanks

You're right - shopping at Waitrose is usually a much better experience than using other supermarkets, though the prices are, on average, 10-15% higher.
Stores vary, but ours no longer puts the reduced items together - they're with the 'normal' items. Sometimes there are some, and sometimes none at all. Pot luck.0
