They are different. Are you flying with BMIbaby, if you are then they fly from East Midlands into Glasgow International which is the main one and nearest to Glasgow and not Prestwick.

Yes, BMIBaby - so that's quite a way (about 36 miles to Ayr) is that right?

Yes I would say about 36 miles, but someone else said that the train from Paisley which is the nearest station to the airport takes you straight into Ayr and there are late trains running at the moment, last one at 12.26am and it takes 45 mins to get to Ayr with no changes, I would assume that come Oct it would be much the same timetable. But someone who uses it could advise better.

I would say Ayr as your base would be good, cheaper to stay than Glasgow with good transport links to Glasgow city (approx 50 mins by train) and then on to Edinburgh if you wanted to do that.
