I think the son was hoping that the holiday home would be his one day and the fact that his father and step mother are now planning to live there full time means he won't get his hands on in as he assumed.0

PM - you haven't said why the first wife died but would it be an idea to suggest that instead of dumping the stuff (and I agree that some of it is fit for only the bin!) that it is sold and the proceeds given to a cause either close to the first wife or supporting a condition if she died of one.
If this is met with resistance, then as others have posted, ask when the son is collecting it?2014 Target;
