Not for the USD or EUR cards...just to be clear.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Hi
I have a fairfx card and found it really useful.

The only drawback is that we couldn't check the balance on my OH card on an ATM (I kept a running total on mine). Luckily we had int access on his phone and so checked it through that. Topped it up through that too.

We used it instead of travellers cheques and not as a credit card as I had heard that it was not accepted everywhere.

    Hi

You can use it to book on Ryanair as it is a prepaid Mastercard.

Why would you need to "buy" Euros with it? Simply use it to pay for goods in shops that take Mastercard or withdraw cash from an ATM. You load it with Sterling and your spending or withdrawal will be debited at the €/£ exchange rate relevant to the date the transaction hits the card account.

Will you have internet access to monitor your account balance? It is quickest to top up by debit card. To top up by bank transfer you need to contact them and get a reference number then transfer the funds to Fairfx's bank acc quoting the ref they gave you so they can load your card. To do this your mother will need access to your fairfx acc or you will need to send her the reference number. All of this will take longer and you won't want to be waiting if you have run out of money.
    I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

Have just added more funds on my card and this was at the end of the page of the transaction....what does this mean -
    IMPORTANT NOTE:
You will not be able to recharge your card again for a few hours while the transaction is being processed. You are also limited to performing two recharges in any one day.
