Sorry Crazy-chick, you just don't sound credible.
Your previous post said £167 for 2 holidays in "very nice" accomodation, now its £334 for 1 week in "luxury" accomodation.
Think the people with bad experiences are more representative of this 'promotional' technique. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!0 -
I've been posting cautionary warnings about the ClubSeasons registered letter, "you have won a prize of value ..." for a couple of months now and am really happy it's come to MSE and will get an even wider audience.
A simple google will enlighten anyone considering sending a cheque for their conditional 'prize'. A lot of people have bought into this timeshare with the view that they can simply sell it the next year and turn a small but quick profit (this is even suggested by the phone reps from ClubSeasons if you are dithering). What they don't tell you is the resale value is pants and as popular as a porcupine in a sauna.
I admit it seems a great offer to be getting a 1-week luxury UK holiday cottage for 4 for less than £500 and in school holidays. Most of the posters on similar forums who have declared they got such luxury accommodation have been unmasked at a later stage as ClubSeason agents.
Clubseasons have staff constantly trolling internet forums. They register as newbie posters and sing the praises. I am not suggesting that it has happened in this thread but it is a method routinely used. Now, the fact that they need to go to these lengths to counter attack the deluge of poor reviews should tell you something.Integrity is a dying art!:p0 -
I've just received another letter from Clubseasons regarding my "prize". They are now offering to pay half the initial management fee for my first holiday of 2007 bringing it down to £168-50. However, the prize was initially worth £3750. Now, on this letter, it has gone down to £2950.
Glad I didn't contact them in the first place. Thanks everyone. :T

Has anyone had any success or have any tips on getting rid of a timeshare?
We were fools and got sucked into one of these "FANTASTIC" schemes, you know the format "CHEAP HOLIDAYS IN WONDERFUL ACCOMMODATION ALL OVER THE WORLD"well yes the accomm' that you can exchange into is usually fabulous if you are prepared to pay the exchange fees on top of your yearly maintenance fees plus flights and your own transfers, but you are stuck with the mainten'c fees for the next forty or fifty years whether you take a holiday or not.
Has anyone tried just not paying, If so what if any were the repercussions?
As we are pensioners this is becoming quite a worry,we are getting to the point where we can't afford holidays, particularly with sky high travel insurance costs for the over seventies.
I would gladly give the week away( Majorca, sleeps six,two bathrooms) but don't know what to do for the best. Please can anyone help? What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Woohoo we won too... though something tells me we shan't be taking up this 'wonderful' offer!
A BIG thank you to the majority on here for saving me and him a small fortune. :T
Looks like we'll be getting the tent out again this year! :rotfl:Happy riding on two or three"We're not complete idiots, we do have some parts missing!" :doh:0 -

Turbo Gran, try asking this on https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk ~ I don't know if anyone will be able to help you on there, but they are very good on the legal type stuff. You will need to register, but its a free site, and is endorsed by Martin Lewis. Good luck ~ we were nearly in your position a few years ago ~ so glad we didn't go ahead.0
