    Aww, my poor hubby.
I've recently started entering lots of postal comps.

Well this morning hubby signed for this letter whilst I was at work.
I get home and he's all excited saying I've got a letter that he had to sign for and it looked like a winners envelope.

I had to tell him, after reading about this on here so many times, that unfortunately I hadn't won anything.

Poor hubby, and god bless MSE:money:

Aw, what a shame. They're so out of order messing with people like they do.

Fingers crossed you'll get a real win soon!

  • Hi all you upset non holiday winners,
Just had a run in with clubseasons after recieving the 'to sign for letter' & being informed of winning a prize to the value of £2950.00.
Phoned them (freephone) was told glad tidings and the reduced maintainence fee of £168.50, Spoke to very nice lady, (She would be as she was trying to sell something)

Said I'd think about it, logged on to this very handy site, seen what you all had to say (including 'Bubbles8' alias- M.D.Clubseasons?)
Then had good chat with traiding standards who were very interested in clubseasons terms & conditions or certain points that were not mentioned.
Got back to 'Club' useing thier freephone again,(anything for free) was put on to an unsavoury & rather voulgar mouthed indevidual called LEE, pulled him on one or two points of missreprisentation, that's when he got a bit naughty & started showing his lack of good breeding and even worse vocabelary, He eventualy started quoting terms & conditions,
Not, I may add, the same terms & conditions that you or I were privy to, a downloaded copy of which i had in front of me.
On hearing his language i informed this 'LEE' person that before my illness i was practising for the 'BAR' and as a matter of course the phone conversation was being recorded.
Suprize, Suprize, he terminated the connection! Manners, i ask you.

This is the responce from clubseasons call centre, Says a lot about the company, do'es it not?

I'll keep u posted on follow up events, I'm not letting go, Namely becouse i've nothing better to do at the moment eccept be a general P in the A to people like these.
Just one final point before 'club' change it, The T & C's do not stipulate only the four Eurapean sites for first year members to visit ( they are proberbly the most unpopular anyway), It clearly states ANY of 'clubs' sites WORLDWIDE, though there is no telling how much Worldwide means & just how many sites are actualy 'clubs' own sites.
Happy compeating & excuses from me, Spellcheck's not working.

Well, thank God for all MSE contributers. I got the "to be signed for" letter this morning telling me I won a prize valued at £3750. I was so excited, then something told me to check this site before I did anything else. I've decided after reading all your comments, not to even phone them. Will just have to wait for a "real prize win". :) Thank you so much.:T :T :T
  • i'm one of the people who have actually been on a clubseasons holiday. I paid the half price maintence fee and booked the free weekend at whitbarrow village and a week at brunston castle. We (me, my husband and 2 kids) went last weekend to whitbarrow village and reading the comments on here made me rather weary but thought i may as well try it. The accomadation was beauitful it was like a real house but upside down (bedrooms downstairs, living room upstairs) with all the mod cons. we stayed in the newest bit (phase 3) so i don't know what the other two are like. We were lucky to get to use the leisure centre because it was being refurbished the monday we went home. to be honest it is worth it for the first year because £167 isn't much to pay for 2 holidays.

Hi Crazy Chick. welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Whilst you were on your weekend, did you have to listen to any presentations about the place? And/ or, have you worked out how much you will have to pay over the lifetime of the membership if you signed up? It'd be helpful if you could let us know what the current costs of these places work out? I've posted the same on your reply in the other forum. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=225970

  • thanks mpython. There is a welcome meeting that you are invited to, to tell you how it all works. We decided not to go as we thought they would try to tell us something but not wish we had as we are a bit confused about next year. we will be going to it when we go to scotland. A man did come round to 'pick us up' but we said we didn't want to go and he said it didn't matter. At the moment all i know is that next year we can pay £334 to go for a week to a place in the uk or abroad (doesn't include flights) and if you want to go more you pay extra. I don't know how much but the man said it will be explained in the meeting so i'll post it when i've been to scotland. I do advise people to go on this as you can only do it for the first year if you want to and £167 isn't much for two holidays in very nice accomadition

  • well, I, like lots of other people, as it seems, received this letter yesterday... I was so excited all day, telling all my customers that Id won this fanatastic holiday to the value of £3750.
I phoned Club Seasons as soon as I got home from work... I was so dissapointed when they told me I had to pay £255.75 maintenance for the first year... I havent had a holiday for over 6 years, with 2 demanding teenagers...........
After reading these posts, it doesnt look like I'll be having a holiday for another 6 years!!!!!!!!!! ah well.

I would like to thank everyone who's contributed to this thread, it's very dissapointing to know that a firm like this is playing with peoples feelings and lives.

    Thanky you all again
  • My OH got so excited yesterday when he recieved this letter. it broke my heart having to tell him the truth :(
