What is Timeshare ?
Timeshare is a form of holiday ownership. You own the right (either directly or through a "club") to use a week (or longer) in an apartment or villa on a holiday resort for a great many years or in perpetuity.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR
Anyone who has received one of these letters should go to a search engine and type in seasons holidays the logo is the same as club seasons so i quessing they same company, but on one of the seasons holidays it does actually say they are a timeshare.
Then doing a little more reasearch on the net i can across a quote saying 'Holiday Clubs are BAD news and should be avoided
Holiday clubs are booking systems for which you pay a large joining fee to enable you to book holidays at prices which are generally no cheaper than on the Internet or High Street' ( i know we are told we won a competition so we dont have to pay the membership/joining fee but other people are paying it.
do a search and look at what some people have said who are saying they worked for them............ a few have said they worked for them and never got paid properly and that when they were not getting enough sales/ people joining and paying in to the company, they did a little digging and knew something funny was going on.............surprise surprise they said they got the sack..
STILL NOT CONVINCED DO A SEARCH AND SEE WHAT BAD COMMENTS COME UP TIME AND TIME AGAIN.
THE ONLY GOOD COMMENTS THAT CAME UP WAS FROM THE ACTUAL COMPANY ITSELF, if the company is that good you would find good reviews all over but i havent............has anyone else.
I have been in touch with trading standards and have emailed watchdog, so when i hear anything that tells me it is 110% a good deal i will be the first to admit i am wrong and will take the offer up myself from the letter i too received recorded delivery. If all of us and the 100s maybe 1000s that have won this prize the company would go bust.
how many companys do u know that give the same so called prize away to 100s/1000s of people........you dont0 -
how much did you pay for your flights to lanzarote?0

I received my prize letter from clubseasons this morning. The maintenance fee is £337 for 2007 and so I shall not be taking it up.0

If you google the name of ClubSeasons, you come up with lots of different people saying the same - makes you wonder how they keep going.

Yes I won too.
My offers, or a rather good offer for the plc behind club seasons.
I got my winning confirmation on Friday Nov 24 2006, it is quite clear we are not winners, we are lottery, bingo or raffle ticket holders - pay first and win.
The email to club seasons does not work and they will not but anything in writing. DO NOT PAY UP.
You are paying £50 a day to have towels put in your room! This is one for Watchdog.
In real terms without interest you would pay £21000+ to use the facility and it is for seven days, the company could easily file for bankruptcy.
I am not sure about the organisations they claim to be part of.
Oh and are there not local gyms and hotels which offer the wonderful memebership benefits.
Don't be fooled.
I am in Haddington close to Edinburgh, strange two winners in a short period of time close together - pass it on to the BBC.0 -
I am about to phone these guys
I read the letter and thought time share but its 20 years since i have seen something like this when it was holiday property bond style stuff but what through me was the letter was sent recorded delievery which i had to sign for and a freephone number.
and the prize refers to another website i had entered a prize draw with. which is anoying as it implies a company i had thought was legit is selling my contact details ... i suppose i should not be to surpised in this day low morals lol
thanks again for the thread ... i still plan to call them but will be wary when i do0 -
what might be an idea is they claim on their website to be members of OTE which is the Orginisation for Timeshare in Europe this is a company that helps regulate this industry and make them abide by UK and european regulations ... this letter does seem dodge as such i plan to send a copy of the letter plus a tranascript of my call to them... i would suggest that anyone one else who is unhappy does the same their email is info@ote-info.com ... http://www.ote-info.com/
From my understanding of the law in the UK you can not offer a person a prize that they have to then pay extra for (ie the maintainance) so a copy of my email will also be going to the DTi and the office of fair trading both of these orginaistations have the ability of investigation and if found to be misleading or illigal then they can impose fines or even ban a person from being a director of a company again within the UK and or europe.

Be warned. These people are at the Clothes Show this week, doing the hard sell.......... telling people there is no fee as it's a "Show Offer"!Waddle you do eh?0

Woken up by postman on Saturday morning to sign for letter from clubseasons  Didn't bother opening it, went back to bed.
Opened it later, somewhat excited, said I'd won Prize Draw 370385, asked to phone them freephone Mon-Fri.
Had a look at website, hmmThe management fees for 2006 are as follows:
Studio £326
1 bedroom £337
2 bedroom £358
3 bedroom £378
OK then for a studio flat assuming two weeks set aside for maintainance that's the tidy sum of £16,300 per flat per annum. As Minder would say, nice little earner.
I might do as others have suggested and take up the 1st year reduced price offer.
All in all I would class it as a scam.0
