  • I've 'won' a Clubseasons prize of £2950.00. After consulting the company and my lovely daughter I have decided to take up the offer. I get a free short break in the UK this year, next year I can choose a week at one of the 4 of their European resorts (if you take a look at the site you will find these listed in the top menu under Resorts as Seasons in the Sun) then after that I can choose from any of the other holidays around the world. I paid £161, that covers 4 people. If it's bad I will let you know and if it's real good I will let you know, too. I won't be bringing anyone a stick of rock though :-). LOL
  • We have won the same and signed up. If we only get to the Uk places for our free week and short break in the first year, it will have been worth the 200 ish quid maintenance charge for the first year. If you go to Ireland, you are guaranteed a two bed place and can take four people - happy days
  • I have just received one of these letters. Having read the previous posts I won't even bother to call them. I'm sure that with all the avaiability of holidays on the Net I could arrange a much better deal and visit places I want to rather than where Clubseasons choose to 'permit' me to go. For anyone preparing to take up the 'free prize' I would suggest proceed with caution. These companies are not charities.
  • Could this not be made into a sticky at the top - saying to avoid them. I hate to think people are getting conned.

All of the posts praising this have been from new posters - so I suspect they are all likely to be 'plants'. There are no regular posters on this site who haave a good thing to say. One can quickly draw conclusions from this fact alone!

I also "won" one of these clubseason things recently. Was all excited at first but a quick search on MSE put me right.

Another warning - and this is something that happened to a friend of my Mum's - that "annual service charge" can easily double or treble and you are legally bound to pay it if you take up your "prize". It works like a timeshare.

I called them and said no thanks.

all, there appears to be a lot of chat around regarding this company. I have an embarrassment of living in st albans, where they have a a major office so on the back end of some sharp calls. All sounds plausible have a read of this from another member at answerbank

    http://www.crimeshare.net/94.html

which allegedly purportes to have comments from current and former employees of the company. This does not appear verifiyable.

secondly i listened carefully to the person apparently reading a script from something as i called in on my prize winning letter. Looks and feels great, but .....

i will not take up the offer, as a) i do not recall entering this competition, b) winning something means just that, i dont expect to pay a penny for something i won.

check the small print carefully, you are entitled to some odd dates and places ....

they are not having my money
  • I am paying £161 for a week's accommodation for 2 adults & 3 children - includig all the school holidays, plus a four day break in the UK.... seems like a pretty reasonable deal to me - even if we decide not to carry the membership on beyond the "prize" period!
    Now MORTGAGE FREE :o

Mortgage at start of MFW Journey... £203,000
Paid in full March 2011 - onto the next venture now which is 2nd home in a sunnier place
  • Chances are that they're giving away holidays at off-peak times to get you hooked on Time-share. Read the small print and watch out for the hard sell.
  • Hi we won this 18 months ago. Paid the maintenance fee and went to lanzarote, book flights through them and i have never been on a plane like it. It was an awful plane, cramped and horrid. If you take it up it may be worth shopping round for your flights.

the accommodation was great. The only downfall was when we were collared for a meeting. They tried getting us to upgrade and wasted a couple of hours of our time. Only went as we thought it was a welcome meeting and not a timeshare meeting.

Just be careful do not be sucked in to upgrading as the sales pitch is pretty impressive. My partner was getting sucked in but as I am a Contracts Officer I refuse to be taken in by sales reps.

When the renewal maintenance fee came through for this year I ignored it. Received one stroppy letter of them and ignored that too. Have not received anymore as they can't force you to carry on as in the small print on ours it said that if we didnt pay the maintenance then we would loose the prize.

Hve a great time on your holiday just watch them when they hassle you with their smooth talking.
