Ok DH has just rang, move date 12th April!
The HA are resending a letter as the home visit will not be the 2nd as stated in the first letter!
Home visit is a general meeting and discuss tenancy, also they will need reference from dhs employer and two for me as i dont work, driving licence for dh and just a passport photo for me, i need to dig out the birth certificates!
Utility bill is on its way!

Tenancy starts 12th and lady said we can move in the 12th but no mention of keys?! so am not sure now til we see her.

    Now need to...

book van - arranging to do that easter weekend with in laws.
sort out elec/gas - they need 2 days notice but will ring today to get things going - done and sort of get what we need to do/what will happen. Elec can be done instantly but gas may be an issue apparently as we cant get in before move day!
Sent off change of address form for child benefit by post.
Car insurance - also contacted and just need to confirm on move day.
TV Licence - done online, they do changes 3 mths prior to move.

    What a morning.....

No sleep last night at all, everything going through my head about what to do, what needs doing and how we will manage moving in on move day ARGH!

Got the letter this morning about home visit from HA (very quick) 1st April between 1-3pm!:T

After an hour of heaving boxes and swearing i found DS`s birth certificate yay!:j DD`s was in the first box i reopened which was nice til i still hadnt found DS`s after the 1000th box!
They have the silver certificate holders so it was in a ornament box not the paperwork box.

I am slightly worried about us moving in on the move day (reason for this is we cant afford rent for both properties).
We will have no side curtains let alone blinds at the windows, no idea of size at all, maybe IF we get to view it i could quickly measure lol!.
It will be a mad rush setting up the kiddies beds after a day of moving.
We may not have gas so no heating:eek: Really hoping we can get the metre no`s so it can be put on sooner.

UPDATE: Posted on the utilities board and they have reassured me that once i give the nos on move day it will be put on as connection is already set up for builders etc. Am just going to relax about it and wait until the day comes.

    :j19 days and counting!!

Today has been another busy day.
I have packed up a majority of the clothes of all 4! Left enough to last us a few days and then that way it will keep the washing down so i wont be taking laundry with me.
I moved our beds out of the bedroom and cleaned and hoovered the whole room, then on move day we wont have to waste too much time cleaning skirting and hoovering the floors.
Emtied the 4 drawers in our bed (most rubbish/clutter) DH seems to put everything in there inc screwdrivers, newspaper clippings and one drawer was like Boots - he wont be needing toiletries for a while lol!
DH came home from work with 2 plastic tubs (brand new) :TFREE! someone gave them to him - perfect for the kiddies toys!! SO have sorted through and cleaned their toys and they now have a tub each all tidy ready for their rooms.

Another 2 black bags of rubbish  where does it come from!!!

At least we will be all decluttered :D

Today i have mostly been worrying.
How are we going to afford flooring/carpet!
We have a man coming to do a free measure and quote and i`m so worried about the cost!!

I suppose we can manage having nothing but it won`t be nice, especially living area and kids rooms.

Guilt always comnes into it when you have children, if it was just me and DH i wouldn`t care!

Well all this worrying has made me ill!
I have a throat and chest infection now :(
Had no sleep at all last night, have a pounding headache and 2 very naughty children who have been playing up all day!

Anyway update: DH went down to the LA and has discussed council tax. We will be sent the bill once we move in as at the moment they have no idea how much it will be as it is a new build the postcode isnt on anyones database (having real trouble with this everywhere!). He has set up the direct debit anyway and done it for over 12 months.

Our rent is fully paid up to date and we only have a weeks rent to pay on the 11th. BUT they wanted the keys back on the 12th at noon!!!
DH explained we could not possibly do that and that he would hand the keys back on the morning of the 13th, he was told we would have to pay another weeks rent as the deadline was noon on the 12th!
Anyway he pushed and pushed with no luck so asked for someone senior and a housing manager came down and DH haggled with her - We are handing the keys back on the eve of the 12th no charge PHEW!

It is so hard changing address everywhere you call or speak too has no record of the new address as it is not on their database - hoping this updates asap!

    Hi,

Lots of luck with the new house. I completely empathise with the "OMG what have I forgotten" terrors in the middle of the night. I found this website (they're trying to sell services to make it all easier) which includes lots of checklists for the run-up to the big day. Thought they might be useful to check off that you've thought of everything.

Felt terrible this morning but have been taking paracetomol every 4 hrs and it is keeping my temperature down and im feeling better then i was! Throat no longer sore but have a dreadful head cold.

Today my parents minded the children and me and dh went to look at beds - ours is 11yrs old and wrecked.
Looks like it will have to stay wrecked *sob*
We went to a bed place in an industrial area citybeds and the average was £400-500. We want a divan with mattress inc with 4 drawer storage.
We then went to another bed place that had a sale on and found one £290 perfect!! £20 deposit, free delivery and removal of old.
Shame we wont have the money for that in time for the sale to finish :(

We have no money for the dining set either :(
    Nor the wardrobe :(

    Very down.....

Hope you feeling better - poor you. try not too get too down about the furniture and stuff - honestly you will make yourself feel worse. Have you any birthdays/anniversarys coming up could you ask your family to give you argos vouchers etc and you could save them and put them towards getting something? Take care :)

Thanks Pinky i will try and stop and breathe, i really need to chill!
Unfortunately as we dont do presents we dont get given gifts for birthdays, anniversaries etc which is fair enough! Although when we did do presents we still didnt get any lmao!
    Hope your well x

I`m still pretty rough with this head cold and nasty cough, didnt go to bed til 4am as i just could not sleep.
DD and DS had to go to the gp today and both have a throat and ear infection along with colds so both on antibiotics and calpol/ibropofen.
DD has not eaten at all or drunk much today and has vomited this evening, now sleeping so fingers crossed for a peaceful night for her! She has been so poorly today and is really rough.
Yesterday DH came up in a rash!! I thought it may have been shingles as it was around his waist like a band but today the gp said it was a viral infection rash so his on tablets for that!
We are all falling apart lol!

I am feeling a lot better (less stressed) :)
My father has offered to buy us our dining set, our bed can wait it is still standing and in working order lol!
14 More sleeps and we will be there so no more worrying now, so we wont have flooring or things we would of liked BUT we will be in a house with a garden close to shops and in a ideal location! Yippeeee!

Oh before i go....this morning i got a lakeland brochure through (ordered it to get points on a survey site lol!) and with it was a packet of salad leaves seeds :)

I am now hunting for pots , let the planting commence.
