Oh hun - sending a hug! I would say try and be postive but I know it is hard when you feel rubbish. Take some paracetamol get a cuppa and have a long soak in the bath.
We have all made mistakes with money - thats why most of us are on here. If I hadnt wasted my money I could have given up work years ago - but now I am stuck and struggling to pay what we owe. My dream house came for sale 3 yrs ago and because we had so much debt I missed out. We could have easily afforded it had we been more sensible. I am keeping my fingers crossed for the house. Can you phone and pester them tomorrow to find out whats happening - take care:D
Thank you Pinky
Pestering does no good at all unfortunately! We do call every Thursday to see where we come and it is always bad news.
A 3 bed house in my parents street went to a couple with 3 boys the other month and on asking the people they said they came from a 2 bed place! I can`t see how they were more of a priority then us so called to ask, but the council didnt want to answer and wouldnt give a reasonable answer!
A few houses have gone to people who didnt really need them ie, a 4 bed went to a couple with 2 girls!!! A 3 bed went to a single mum and her 2 boys!! There just seems to be a rule for one and a rule for others!!
It is 4 years in April we have been on the list now, each day is harder now. We have always been really good tenants never claimed benefit or anything and pay by direct debit so always on time - don`t get any better thought of though lol!
ANYWAY...i had another Argos gift card come today from ipsos £5, so i have £15 waiting to be spent in Argos
Feeling less grumpy too lol!xDebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

We got it!!!!!!!!:j:j:j:j
We got a call this morning at 9am to say we had been allocated the new build home in my parents area.:j
I am in shock and it hasn`t sunken in yet! I have been packing some things all day and can`t believe that i now have over 20 bin bags of stuff we dont need. (boot sale for us this summer).
We have got to wait to find out when we will be moving, apparently we have to view first then arrange to move in. The local council said we could go and have a look but they had no address! SO we went there and spoke to the builders and they showed us the road and let us see inside one of the houses (all empty at the moment).
They are really lovely
In laws are paying for a van hire which has saved us £98.00. They will be coming to help us move.
I am so tired but have so much to do, had no sleep last night as i just couldn`t sleep.DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

I have not heard anything today. DH contacted our local housing to see and the women has said the houses are not quite finished yet and we may here next week or the week after.
She said she was just sending paperwork over to the housing association regarding the new builds that have been allocated!
We have been packing, didnt go to bed until midnight and i was up until 2am AGAIN! Just couldnt sleep.
I am now just waiting quite literallyIn the meantime it gives me a couple of weeks to bump the savings up a bit!!

It is sinking in and i`m getting really excited now!
Just want to get in and get cracking making the house a home
Today we popped to a local carpet shop which is just round the corner to the house. The owner of the shop is really nice and helpful we have used him before.
He knows the houses well and has done a few jobs there. He has said we are to let him know when we get the keys and he will do free quote for us.
Picked a carpet for the stairs and top landing really nice and hard wearing too Just can`t wait now.
He informed me that the downstairs hall and lounge is already fitted with wooden flooring (that he is aware of!)
If this is true then i just can`t believe it, the hall runs straight into the lounge and it would be a very expensive job to have wooden flooring done and i don`t want carpet so would be a huge bonus!
Maybe that is why they have said the house is not ready yet?! When we saw the houses on Thursday everything was complete even wall sockets and light fittings. Back garden was complete only thing we could see that needed doing was front step and pavement (there is no front garden or pathway).DebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j
