Well I've done it, the ironing basket is now empty:j Iam ashamed to say it has taken two days on & off to do it and the only problem now is not enough hanging/drawer space to put them away:rotfl:

Bedding to wash tomorrow so will time it right so I can iron them straight away and get them back on the beds instead of using the another set.

Looks like we're all having a good start!

I've had a good day, though a hot one! Shifted a lot of clutter (and dust  ) from the main shelf unit and threw out some stuff dating back to 2004. I'm sitting here looking at the shelves from time to time because they look so good. :A There's more that can be thrown out, but it's not messy and I'll do it at the same time as I update my filing.

Tidied up computer desk and put all the CDs that were balancing on top, into their slots. Gave it a good clean with a soapy cloth as well.

Very pleased also because I came up with a new system for Things To Do for DH and me. Nothing earthshattering, I'm cutting post-it squares into post-it strips. Each strip has a task and is stuck onto the monitor. Once the job is done, the strip gets chucked.

Tomorrow it's my desk, which has been a nightmare for too long now. Hope I manage it because my best time to get things done seems to be between 8 and 11, and I've got to scrub up for a 10:30 appointment. I might do the dinner preparations between hairwash and setting off, and try and save time that way.

So the long-term Change for the Week is to to go round with a binbag on a weekly basis now, so that the clutter doesn't build up again.

Off for a quick cool shower now, and I'm NOT going to save time for tomorrow by washing my hair now, I'm too tired!

As I feared, it's all gone pearshaped today. DS has not been slleping well today so ended up taking him to the park to sit under a tree for a while and watch the world go by. Ah well, I did get a little ironong done so will carry on with that and try again tomorrow!

I need to use my bike more!
OH bought me a trailer for it last year.
I've used it today and will try to use it at least once a week till I build up my strength a bit more and can use it more often.

Only 1 thing in my to-do folder - a cheque I've been waiting for that needs to be deposited tomorrow :j

Chipps! Time to do your menu plan!

I'm about to start decluttering in our office/kitchen/diner. DS is having his powernap so I'm going to whizz around NOW!

    .... I've started it:j
    got this week's done, anyway:o

but I really could do with the whole of next month, as payday is the 20th - and stocks are getting low, so I really need to do some serious shopping.
But I only want to buy what I absolutely need... hence the need for a menu plan.

    GREAT idea!

    I'm in.

Okay, I've noticed that I'm pretty good at keeping downstairs in some kind of order but our bedroom is always full of clutter. So this week I'm going to make sure there's nothing on the floor. Then I'll tackle the surfaces when I've got a handle on that.

In this weather salad is perfect. I make several different kinds at the beginning of the week and replenish them as they get used up. Then all I have to do before a meal is to cook the meat/fish for family & veggie option for me and serve with the selection of salads. Try potato salad, coleslaw, green salad & pasta salad for starters.

Make life easy by cooking extra boiled potatoes, rice or pasta with a non-salad meal, pop into fridge and use up in salad the next day. Also, if baking chicken breast etc. to go with salad, do an extra one to slice up into sandwiches.

    Happy eating!

    Dear Gwinnie

Glad you are beginning to get to grips with cleaining and decluttering your house. I was sorry to read that you have spent several hours on doing this and are too exhausted to wash your hair. It sounds like you have "crashed and burned", i.e. slogged away at your chores before flopping! From another thread on this site (in early April) I was directed to https://www.flylady.com and this site has been most helpful, so I would like to recommend it to everyone. FlyLady simply says that a little and often will slowly but surely get rid of all your clutter and clean your house spotlessly, so that it doesn't seem like a chore. Believe me, it has really made a differece in my own house and I would unhesitantly recommend that you try it!
    Initial Debt = £9,700 (at 15.9%)

    Net Debt at April 4 = [£9,680 (0%) less £2,905 (4.5%)] = £6,775
    :jDebt-free Date = 25 December 2006:j
;)£2.00 Coin Savers Club = £30 (of which £20 banked)

Hi Budget, I think little and often is the way to go for me, especially having a 6mo baby (and a 30something OH!). Thank you very much for the link, I'll have a good read this evening.

Edited to add: btw I only spent 3 hours as I have a 6mo baby plus associated laundry!
