Problem with a work colleague!

Lol Pastures, I have to turn the radio down and everything!
It does annoy me because I think about things when I'm driving, granted they might not be important things, but they matter to me and if I don't get a bit of time in the day to get my head in order then it messes everything up. I don't suppose that makes much sense.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
The problem I would have then is that she might ask me what I've been doing at said activity and I don't have a very good imagination so something like aerobics would mean I'd have to watch it on tv to get the idea of it.
She did have a car in better times, but she sold it when her DH became disabled since he now has a mobility car. I did ask why she couldn't use this but she said he might have unexpected hospital appointments.
I hate other people coming to me when they have problems aaargh. It gives me a headache tbh.
Please - just politely say that you are unable to give her a lift. Reasons do not have to be given. With all due respect, stop being a doormat.0 -
Yes floss she would be bothered about that, I was thinking about any damage to my car, I wouldn't see her for dust lol.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000

Well my head is saying you are being a little mean.
She's really hard up, you're not going out of your way, she's got a disabled husband and is probably really appreciative of the lifts, especially this time of year.
But on the other hand.......kind of know what you mean. A guy at work (who had a particularly bad body odour issue) started doing this to me a few years ago and it really, REALLY got to me. It didn't help that he was in fact the most boring person on the planet and it was actually quite a way out of my way each time.
Personally, I think I'd carry on doing it. I'd probably email her (nicely) though and tell her if she wants a lift in future, it's £20 per week (or whatever 1/2 the petrol would be) though - it may well be enough to put her off."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Makes perfect sense to me, as thats exactly what I do on my drive home

YOU WHAT?
Right, that's it. The next time she gets into YOUR car, you crank that !!!!!! up to 11 and have all of the windows open as well. And when you drop her off tell her that this is the last time you'll be able to do it. No explanations. End of. I can't believe the nerve of that woman!0 -
Yes mrcow, this is what part of me thinks, that it would be really mean of me given her situation.
Having said that, if my insurance is affected in anyway then I won't try to bend the rules of my policy, that would scare me, I probably wouldn't be able to drive anywhere cos I'd be too terrified to lolKarma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -
B&T, that's nothing, the other girl I mentioned earlier has a Fiesta and this person puts the seat right back so she can stretch her legs outKarma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000

is there a collegue who could act as a go between for you at work - someone you could get to say to her - kittiej is far too polite to say anything, but she wants to do something else, is about to move, has started to have feelings for you or so,mething else like that to put her off?No longer an accidental landlord, still a wannabe millionaire:beer:

Lol molit, what if she felt the same way? Oh no, I'm so going to have nightmares tonight now thank you.
It's not that I'm too polite to say anything, I just don't want to end up in personnel because I've offended her. I would like to keep my job for a little while longer. She's the type to play the injured party even when she's the cause.
Oh why me? I've had a run-in with her before, even my boss advised I need to say something - but be careful how you say it!
I,m going to ask my work colleague about how I should say " look I don't want to give you a lift cos you're getting on my nerves presming I don't mind, I can't think straight because you're intruding in my alone time, I've got to turn the radio down and my fuel consumption has increased due to your carcass filling my car, I can't even change gear comfortably because you loll all over the armrest"Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000
