    Hi all

Hope you are all doing well. Have had a rubbish week with ebay and now have a stupid buyer asking what I think is a bit of a cheeky question. Can I ask what experienced dribblers would do.
Sold an item (for only 99p vastly underpriced:mad:) and stated postage as £3. No contact before bidding but buyer has since asked me to reduce postage by sending 2nd class or 2nd class recorded (price for recorded would come to £3 anyway including packaging) Don't want to mess with my feedback but looking at theirs it is obv a dealer trying their luck.

    Please help

Then again I lost money so maybe not my thing....but wondering if it may benefit me to go se re ebay...I havent been selling on ebay as a business up until now just my own junk and stuff friends didnt want etc and only here and there, is there a lower limit you need to be selling to register se....I did a tax return for my business this year so got to grips with that so could keep records etc....would it be similar for Avon and other se schemes like that surely I wouldt get WTC for doing Avon????!!!

I would just politely tell your buyer what you've said here - that it would come to £3 anyway and if they're not happy would they like you to mutually cancel the bid?
Worked for me in the past!

I would have said if they contacted you before bidding it may have been something for you to consider but as its after, no way. They accepted the postage costs when they made their bid in my opinion, if I don't like the postage cost on something I don't bid or I ask if anything else possible before I bid...I think that is the sensible way to do it....does sound like trying luck yes!

Avon - yes your technically a business and registered as SE. They wont ask what your business is, only for your UTR number and estimated earnings.

One thing to watch with SE and really low earnings is that they may well look into it if any big payments are due.

yep, as long as you are SE (and can prove that you are actually working, eg tax return etc) then theres no problem.... You dont have to be making loads..... HMRC expect companies to take 3 years to be profitable....
