Havent managed to get on for a few days so know I have missed lots.....I have sold a few things on ebay, well 2 things and made £40 so happy with that, but major bad news oh has found out this week that his job that was meant to be 'safe' for 4 years is not and they are all likely to be made redundant in about a month to a month and half.....really worried about money situ now, he wont hear of me going back to work properly at the mo, hes q traditional and our youngest is only 10 months but so scared about how we will manage if he cant find another ft job straightoff....dont really know extent of benefits etc we may be entitled too.....seems so scary not to have a ft income. Think is a big kick up backside re my efforts to make extra money thou, we will need it! I am off to try find some free bingo for some light relief anyone know of a good site???[/QUOTE

oh Victoria..... I'm kind of in a similar situation, OH might be made redundant or moved to Birmingham (we live in north devon!!) so I had a look on

I don't think its 100% accurate but it should give you an idea of where you stand if it does happen..... play with the figures.... I found we would be better off if I am working SE (and not really earning) than if I didn;t work and OH claimed JSA.... not much but it all helps....

Have a winge and a moan on here with us luvvie.... it certainly makes you feel better!

Nixi - I know.... I am still in shock that someone would offer to help so much!! I really didn;t expect it!!!

NO way (no offence Saucy!!LOL!) am I moving to Birmingham!

The kids are settled, in a good school with really low pupil numbers (17 in the whole school, theres only 8 in DS class!!) and the extension isn't finished. OH will push for redundancy (mortgage is insured to the hilt! so that will be covered) and look to go back on the tools....

Don't worry Mabel, I'll still be here!!

Mambury - if you end up in Birmingham you would be near me and Saucy (till she moves to sunnier climes that is!)

Mabel - what did you buy, I'm intrigued, sounds like a fantastic opportunity though. You are so brave, really impressed!
Life is a work in progress

Hey, is not Doncasters is it? Thanks for your thoughts re entitled to, I shall have to try that, when I rang tax credit helpline a while back re me working a few hours they told me we'd be better off if my oh only worked pt as they would make money up? Sounds too good to be true though!
