Looks like LoanCheck are back up and running.
I have recieved a letter saying they have recently been made aware that 3rd party organisations dealing with their cases are acting inappropriatly, so they are now only partnered with one soloictors, Signey Law, and want to take on my case.
I was told by my `3rd party - Dawson Hart Solicitors` that it was Loancheck who were acting inappropriately - so tis all sounding very fishy to me - i would not touch any of them with a barge pole now.......0 -
Is anyone any the wiser as to what is going on? What happens to the timescales in place for claiming back PPI, as I have a horrible feeling that my date has now come and gone, with no response from Watsons whatsoever:(0

Hi There.
I also had trouble with Watson and took them to the Solicitors regulation Authority who are investigating them I also got Compensation. I took the case to the FOS ringing them before hand to ask their advise. As far as FOS are concerned the six year rule will not be kept to IF Watsons and the bank have had correspondence. I would suggest that you get on to FOS. Good luck:mad:0 -
John Whittaker is involved in Signey Law, they are running a bunch of old LoanCheck cases through it

Hi all,
Anyone else not able to get through to Watsons on the phone - seems like their phone has been cut off!

I've been trying to contact Andrew Watson of Watsons Solicitors for some time and after sending continuous emails to him have now had a reply telling me that my case was closed and archived and that I should have had a letter - which I haven't! Really shocked at this and wondering where I can go to now? They started my case about a mis sold mortgage product in November 2008 which I want to continue with, as have an excellent case - can anyone advise where to start next?0

What is FOS?
FOS - Financial Ombudsman Service, a free organisation you can complain to, for example, if the business you complain to does not resolve your complaint by a final decision, if eligible you can complain to the FOS.
More details here.

However, if Watsons did not contact the bank within the time limit then they can timebar it.
Similarly, the bank can timebar it if it did not go to FOS within six months of the final response letter being issued.
However, in such circumstances you can complain to the solicitor and if necessary to the Legal Ombudsman.
Note that you must complain to the Legal Ombudsman with one year of becoming aware of cause for complaint and you must first allow the solicitor an opportunity to respond.
I am not sure when the year would start but I suspect it would be when you got a letter from FOS saying the case was timebarred.
I would be quite interested to know how such a case panned out. Presumably the Legal Ombudsman would need to follow FOS procedures to decide whether FOS would actually have awarded redress.0 -
For those who don't know some ex Loancheck sales people have formed the Leasing Advisory Service and now promote Leasecheck (pathetic isn't it).
They've even managed to fool the BBC (see their website today).Well done maxdp. Excellent news. It is encouraging for the rest of us that feel we have been ill advised!0
