You know, it makes me sick
The holier than thou attitude of some on this forum.
People make mistakes and should not be beaten with a big stick when they have been punished already.
As for Watsons, from the record they have i would happily use them if I needed consumer credit help.

I'm really not sure this thread serves any useful (forum) purpose.
I strongly suspect it's being used to defend the indefensible.
(I'm especially suspicious of the number of "thanks" some comments receive on this thread)

What are you calling the indefensible?

You're not suggesting that some "users" might have an ulterior motive? ;)

It would appear that an old thread has been resurrected to do some Watson bashing. This imho is wrong. Mistakes were made but that was then this is now. People may not agree with using the law to defend action by banks but if the agreement is unenforceable then the law says it is. Ask Ms Mayhew, she was willing to keep paying the debt but santander took legal action and lost thanks to Watson.
  • They were 2 1/2 years ago and took a long time to come to an end. The firm is different now, and he was not struck off and is no doubt watched. Grow up and stop beating people for past mistakes. He did not commit a criminal offence nor was he directly responsible;e for people who did unlike Bob Diamond or Nick Leeson.

and what a sad life one must lead if one only has to be concerned about what other people are doing.

    Have a nice day now

Sadder still to spend your life cashing in on others misery.

Indeed, there are several businesses that do that, PDL's, DCA's and claims debt management companies but I wouldn't say Watsons fall into those groups

I think it is a very fine line and i think Watsons have been know to be on the wrong side of it, as evidenced here.
