But if she lost then this should have been covered by the insurance shouldn't it? This was what the insurance covered wasn't it?

So Sorry yours has not got any further Pinknico. So who holds your paperwork at the moment whilstt it is waiting to go to a Solicitor is that Black Knight.

Yes, they sent me a letter and I had to sign it to say I was happy for all my paperwork to be sent over to Blackknight. May call them later and see what is happening.

So if the solicitor takes out the loan and drags their heels they would gain more interest - is that what you are saying???Also how are these cases moving forward now as I thought there was a problem obtaining the data?

I am going to see if I can find it today Marshallka.

He cannot find the paperwork with the final bill etc cause he shredded it. He does not remember any disbursements or charges but I am sure that I do. I also remember what Ihad been told that it could be up to £300.00 for disbursements, do not remember if that was win or lose though. They did not say it was on every case just that it may happen.:(

This is a quote from Protected Investments Limited information sheet that was sent to me on 17/7/2008 explaining the Loancheck Process.

"The Loancheck Service has been created to enable you to gain full redress from your lender with little or no cost to you. A loan facility will be made available to your solicitor to run your case. All costs incurred in running your case will be levied to your lender should the solicitor win your case, however interest on the solicitors loan is not reclaimable from the other side. This means that you may be charged a fee for interest on the solicitors loan. This is at the solicitors discretion and any such amount would be deducted from the compensation due to you. Each case is insured so that should you case fail you will not incur any cost."

So that was obviously what I was talking about yesterday, yet I have no proof of that because the documents are destroyed, but I do have the above on headed paper in front of me.

Is there a hint of sarcasm in your post there petermb and a dig at Natalie. What about all the others that have posted on here about fees? I think that is what natalie was on about.

Just seems strange that maxdp is the only case won also?

Sorry there was more than a hint of sarcasm actually. The one thing I have tried to do is demonstrate that both I and the staff that worked with me at PIL acted with the best of intentions and did not foresee the outcomes we are now seeing.

Once we had been turned over by the said company we had no means to assist to put things right. So you can perhaps understand why it is hard to take a kicking from people who do not know the facts and do not know me and my wonderful team. A small group of people who worked tirelessly for the clients. As for me, I actually ended up out of pocket rather than making back hand money and secret fees as has been insinuated on here.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

When petermb promoted them on here he always said totally free and it was said that it was no risk to the client at all.

Now it appears they have parted ways he is stating otherwise. I wonder why he did not tell of the terms that you have stated above before now as this clearly states that the client MAY be charged or am I reading it wrong.

Perhaps the next business to set up is one that checks fees charged by solicitors to see if they are fair.

I was always aware that we may be charged up to 300.00 if we won but it would be no more than that. This was obviously what it was for but we were told it would be disbursements.
I thought that was not bad at all seing as some companies wanted 500.00 up front then 25% of any "winnings".

Obviously I know now that I could have done the whole thing myself but at the time I was a newbie and I had quite a few to persue and I did not realise how easy it is.:o

Maxdp, have you heard from your solicitors yet. It all seems tooooo quiet on here TBH..

Just a little joke about solicitors
    At the pearly gates
A lawyer died and arrived at the pearly gates. To his dismay, there were thousands of people ahead of him in line to see St. Peter. To his surprise, St. Peter left his desk at the gate and came down the long line to where the lawyer was, and greeted him warmly. Then St. Peter and one of his assistants took the lawyer by the hands and guided him up to the front of the line, and into a comfortable chair by his desk. The lawyer said, "I don't mind all this attention, but what makes me so special?" St. Peter replied, "Well, I've added up all the hours for which you billed your clients, and by my calculation you must be about 193 years old!"
