It's against Law Society rules for Watsons to do this?

Mine was passed from Loancheck to Blackknight, it has never been with a solicitor.

So really then there are fees to pay regardless? When you said it was through Petermb to Loancheck and then Watsons is this not how a lot of the cases were on here? If you have not paid any fees (or your friend/OH/business partner) then what has changed in the terms and conditions since then I wonder?

I know lesley has said 4 or her 5 are going through now so really she most probably would have signed the same as yours (OH) as it was over 2 years ago. It must be the same as she went through petermb to loancheck to Watsons? She had (does not know though until its in writing!!) been told she may have to pay fees? If you both signed the same agreement type thing with the solicitor then I cannot understand how Watsons can say that to one person but not charge another if you see what i mean. Confusing????

    hi marshallka

my claims are not with watsons, although i did go through peter then to loancheck then to my solicitor.

Why were you told there would be a liability for disbursements if the solicitors worked on a no-win, no-fee agreement and as such the disbursements were covered by the insurance policy?

Seems a strange piece of advice.
Only saying what I was told at the time. I understood that the CFA would not cover certain aspects e.g. photocopying etc

Hello Max, in all the time Loancheck had never passed in onto a solicitor,I was constantly told it was in the queue to be passed to the next available one but this never happened,so it is like starting from scratch with Blackknight who have also said the next step is a visit from solicitors but I am still waiting!
Well done on starting this thread Max.xx:T

So Sorry yours has not got any further Pinknico. So who holds your paperwork at the moment whilstt it is waiting to go to a Solicitor is that Black Knight.

I do understand Marshallka. This case was won so the costs were passed on to the Lender. I suppose with Lesley it has not got to that stage yet so that is the difference.

Do you know I am sure I have read somewhere that the client may also be responsible for paying the interest on the Loan that the Solicitors take out. I am not saying this 100% I will double check tomorrow. Had anybody else seen that in their terms and conditions.

At least they are registered with data protection to handle data.

So if the solicitor takes out the loan and drags their heels they would gain more interest - is that what you are saying???Also how are these cases moving forward now as I thought there was a problem obtaining the data?

But if she lost then this should have been covered by the insurance shouldn't it? This was what the insurance covered wasn't it?

Did you agree to this or was it just done?
