Do hope you get a decent apology from M+S must admit when I saw an ad in paper saying "if you love her you'll give her roses, if you really love her you'll give her M+S roses" I was apalled. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired particularly online. The arrogance they use in their advertising is so irritating.
    Booo!!!
  • My girlfriends "bouquet" arrived yesterday morning. When she opened the box, they were basically dead. The petals were turning black and the leaves were all crispy. Im sure she thought i was having a joke with her. When you look at the lovely arrangment on the M & S page and then look at the sorry bunch we were sent, it seems i have been truly ripped off. I think these will be going back for a full refund. They're supposed to last 7 days not 7 hours.

My flowers were delivered on Friday, pretty poor condition and the box was dented and soggy. Took them to local M&S where I received a full refund and my wife was told to select any flowers up to the amount of the original purchase. I'm told that this is their policy with regards to such matters.

Wife was actually quite pleased as she is a bit of a money saver herself :).

I went into my local store and they told me that they don't deal with the internet deliveries and to ring customer service....it doesn't seem to be uniform which route of complaint you can go down...

I phoned my mum tonight and she insisted they were beautiful and is going to send me a pic... so maybe M&S are a bit too hit and miss... I probably won't use them again just in case.

Got same day delivery from flowersdirect.co.uk and quidco as well :)

A wise word said to me was what you have to remember is that M and S doesn't employ florists....

Then they shouldn't sell bouquets of flowers ;) People do know they don't employ florists but are choosing to buy them from M&S because of their reputation for quality.

Seems a bit daft that there are people now stating that they will never use M&S flowers again, even though their own orders turned out lovely!

Yes but that's one good story (from me) and about 5 bad ones!!!!

I don't want to take that risk, especially for the prices they charge

I posted good feedback for M&S, too.

A few negative reviews where M&S screwed up on what is probably the busiest day of the year for flower orders, doesn't mean that there is a "risk" of any sort. You'd get the same "risk" of being let down by either a cancelled order or goods not being as expected from any florist.

After all, how many orders did they fulfill with no problems? I can't help but think that if they cancelled or messed up hundreds of orders there would be a lot more angry people posting about it! In real terms, only a small amount of orders out of thousands(?) were either cancelled or not as expected. I agree that this is disappointing, poor customer service and not what people expect from M&S, but every company makes mistakes at some time or another - announcing your M&S flowers boycott because a handful of people were let down is excessive, particularly as in your case (and mine, and probably many others!) they fulfilled the order as expected.

And as I posted above, I've received a lot of flowers in the past from various companies (though mainly Interflora) and this boquet is hands-down the nicest I've ever received.

!!!! happens, and people are far more likely to sit at their computers ranting about how disappointed and angry they are than to rush to the forums to spout their praise.
