Just phoned M&S as the clock ticked past the latest guaranteed delivery time of 19:30. Due on Monday now apparently! Told them this was NOT what I had paid for. I had been promised delivery today, Sunday, Valentine’s Day!

Due tomorrow they said and gave me a full refund. Last time I use them!

....I don't think you'll get very far really, because they'll say they informed you in good time, even though they didn't, .....

I don't think there are many people who sit up all night just in case M&S are going to break a contract for services, so I would not have opened the e-mail till approx 10.30am: hardly 'good time' - even a 9am phonecall would not be 'in good time'.
Hope GF was not too upset
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

I had a problem with M and S flowers previously, they arrived half dead! Complained by e-mail and I got a full refund and a £10 gift voucher in the post.

I guess flowers can be pretty hit and miss. Myself and my boyfriend have pretty much always bought from Interflora in the past, and we have mostly been happy with only one or two poorer quality boquets - for example, a dozen red roses I received just before Christmas were a bit on the wilted side and the boquet was quite sparse, they died very quickly too. Other times we've had some amazing Interflora boquets that have lasted well over a week. I suppose a lot of it might have to do with which florist it's assigned to.

OTOH, I just received my first M&S boquet today and it is absolutely stunning. Though it's not the 'traditional' red roses and has mixed reviews on the site, I can attest to the size, beauty, arrangement, quality and healthy appearance of the flowers. (This is the boquet, if anyone is interested!) After receiving these I would definitely us M&S flowers again.

(Just wanted to put a different opinion out there after all the M&S bashing about crap quality and non-delivered flowers!)

Also, I can understand why you would be angry at their terrible customer service, but it is just a bunch of flowers and it is just one commercial made-up holiday in the year, most women would be very understanding of the situation!

    St Valentines day massacre!!

a dozen red roses ordered online at M+S weeks ago, following on advice on this fair website....

a dozen fairtrade courier delivered red roses on sunday 14th february.

an email was recieved at 01:28am this morning stating that the item ordered could not be delivered today and i would be contacted to arrange a new delivery date.

i am sure Valentines day is only once a year....

I would call head office and ask to speak to the Chief Executives office complaints department. Don't let them put you through to customer service, they are no good! I had a nightmare at Christmas in the sale fiasco online and was promised a call back by customer service by a manager, 3 days later I was still waiting!!!!!!

Appalling let down. I won't use M & S for flowers in the future. Or anything important.
  • mine were delivered at about 10.30 am - didn't have a clue they were coming and wouldn't have been upset in the slightest if i hadn't got flowers on what as what another MSE'r quite rightly pointed out is a commercially made up 'celebration' that we are forced to adhere to to show face. However my b/f, who is a skint student did order some from M&S and they were delivered and looked beautiful.

Sorry to the OP who had such dreadful problems but please put this into context, poor customer service yes, but i am sure all this does not affect how your good lady feels towards you..!!
