I don't buy any processed foods at all, luckily I'm at home all day and love cooking.
I've tried the eco balls and just did'nt find they got the whites, white enough so I do buy detergent and fabric conditioner.
Can't say I agree that fabric conditioner does'nt make a difference, but I guess that's a matter of opinion and depends on what type of water you have..
Cleaning stuff is where I buy very little as I tend to use white vinegar and also the same bottle of flash multi does everything and lasts ages.0 -

Cooking without salt _pale_
Instead of salt I use loads of different herbs and spices. And I love adding black pepper to almost everything.
Another thing I never buy any more is biscuits from the supermarket. My only exceptions are cereal bars - which are probably just as bad as biscuits - or I very rarely make my own.
Also, I never buy jars of pasta sauce. I get much nicer results making my own from scratch. I do buy pesto though, but I'm hoping that soon - once my basil gets growing - I can make my own.Looking forward to the future.0 -

(After witnessing the births of many lambs on one spring day in Dovedale I vowed never to buy/eat lamb again and have stayed true to my word. I do however eat sheep's liver/mutton which tastes even better when cooked slowly. Much less greasy!)
Corned beef
(After realising what they put in it!)
Black pudding
(I mean "urggh!" Do people really want to eat pigs fat and blood fried in more fat??)
I'm the same with the lamb. We haven't been able to find mutton or we might consider using it - even that would be difficult for me though. At least a much older sheep would have had a bit of a life0 -

We don't use it either, only time it is used is on the odd time we
have homemade chips0 -
Do people really buy frozen mashed potato, or cabbage? I can't think of anything less appealing, except perhaps when they're cooked together and sold as frozen bubble and squeak. They're paying for leftovers
I no longer buy any alcohol or tobacco products, gave them up in 05 and 07 respectively.I bought a pack of bagels once but they taste like lumps of dry bread/cake. Ughhh. I'll stick to bread and rolls from my bm.
All the usual things, fabric softener, air fresheners etc, and eggs from battery hens. Free range are a little more expensive but some things are really worth the extra pennies.0 -

I think she means that the only salt she buys is the chunky stuff and that she only uses it for icy paths0 -
Do people really buy frozen mashed potato
Well I do, I can't make mash to save my life either too lumpy or ends up like wallpaper paste. At £1 for 2 Morrisons own brand and getting at least 8 meals from those makes it a lot cheaper than buying and wasting spuds, milk and butter.2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32
