Can someone reccomend which eco balls to try, there are so many on the market and i would rather try some that others use and think are good.
    Many thanks

I have lost the box from mine and as I bought them some time ago, I can't remember what brand they are. They were bought online, and are yellow with green foam middle-bits. They are good, so I'm sorry I've forgotten:o

Fabric softener. Reckon it's a really con. I never noticed any difference in my laundry.
  • As a working mum of 2 small children alot of things that I would love to make are just too time consuming!
I do however always make my own spag bol sauce, it's so easy!
I've also given up most branded food and buy as much value stuff as I can - I can't believe the price diff for some things although i'm sure it's getting more expensive in comparison??!

    Any lamb products.
(After witnessing the births of many lambs on one spring day in Dovedale I vowed never to buy/eat lamb again and have stayed true to my word. I do however eat sheep's liver/mutton which tastes even better when cooked slowly. Much less greasy!)

    Corned beef
(After realising what they put in it!)

    Black pudding
(I mean "urggh!" Do people really want to eat pigs fat and blood fried in more fat??)

  • I rarely buy ready meals anymore. Have discovered I can cook things that taste much better - even though I'm still a novice - I just cook what I like the taste of.

But the one thing I never buy or use is salt. I've some somewhere in the house, but I don't think I ever touch it. It's there just in case.
    Looking forward to the future.

Oh yes, if you are going to kill a pig you might as well do it the honour of eating it all.

I knew reading through this thread there must be one thing I don't buy anymore! I haven't bought salt in goodness knows how long! When I do it's a small tub for the grinder, I don't believe in "table salt" and never use it for cooking.

I've never used fabric conditioner/softener so can't give that up!

I very rarely buy frozen ready meals - for some reason I went through a spate of buying them a couple of years ago, don't know why we were buying so many. :o
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

I dont buy wine anymore, I used to buy 3 bottles for a tenner and now I make my own which works out at about 90p a bottle once you have bought the starter kit.

Anyone interested this is where I buy from www.art-of-brewing.co.uk

Starter kit which you only buy once £13.30
Sugar inclusive 30 bottle of chablis syrup £28.99

    Perfect !!
