great thread my teenage makeup junkie daughter and i both have excema so good to see some ideas to try apart from the aquious
creams and e45 we get in HUGE quantities on prescription from docs as our skins are so bad

any help on cheaper Emo/Goth syle make up for DD ??

Have you used Oilatum? I had disgusting all over body Eczema and I switched from Aqueous, Steroid and E45 to just using Oilatum Bath / Shower products and cream and it cleared up quickly, touch wood it's never returned and that was about 8 yrs ago.

Emo / Goth : try Miss Sporty - cheap and bold coloured including blacks, whites and reds. Or, try Wet N Wild cosmetics, sold in Boots and New Look I think... http://www.wnwbeauty.co.uk/ there's a few threads on here, they often do 99p sales

    Hope that helps xx

I've been meaning to post this for days. If you can't live without Salon standard cuts and colours, or Acrylic Nails, etc. Then check out your local education centre / institution, see what they do... for example Middlesbrough College (near me!) do Acrylics for £8, Hot Stone Massage for £10, Facials for £10, Cuts for £3, Colours from £5... etc etc. So its worth trying out. Although not strictly sub £5, its still dirt cheap if you usually spend loads of money! xxx

I love Boots Botanics Organic Rosewater toner - I think it was about £4. It is a lovely, gentle product that I either use as a toner, or sometimes in the morning, I just cleanse with this.

I also love the simple cleansing wipes, and always go back to them after trying other brands. I tried buying the simple baby wipes (much cheaper) but I didn't find them as nice.

I would second the st ives apricot facial scrub. I've used the sensitive skin one, which is a great product - really creamy. I think I paid £1 for it at our small chemists in town.

Dr Organic also have some nice products (Holland and Barrett.) I've got the vitamin E lip balm in a yellow tube, and also the handcream in the orange tube that smells of honey - lovely natural products and under a fiver.

Daniel Galvin Jnr lavender hangover hair conditioner is the best product I've ever used. It cost £3.99 for a 250ml bottle from Waitrose.

That's all I can think of for now!

Great thread , I am wondering does anyone know a more MS version of Benefit Lemon Aid , I have read great reports about it but just cant justify the price at the moment.

eBay is a good source for Benefit products. I just bought some F..Y.Eye there at about half the shop price.

Well let me know how you get on :) xx

I have been using Superdrug's Optimum line decrease at night under my eyes, and SD's natural radiance balm during the day for a bout a week now and there is a noticeable difference...i don't get a fright when i look in the mirror now! I actually look fresher and perkier, amazing! My skin seems to have balanced out a bit, not so blemish-y or dry, and I dont look so tired! (still feel it though!)

Highly recommending the SD range which includes radiance balm...it smells divine, like strawberry milkshake, and feels lovely! :j

I have an 86 year old aunt who has the most amazing skin with hardly any wrinkles - and she laughs a lot, honest.
Every morning and evening she washes with Dove soap, then splashes with rosewater and finishes with Nivea cream.
    Normal people worry me.

My 83 year old granddad uses fairy liquid to wash his hair. its the softest ever. then he puts talc on and brushes it through, honest it looks and smells great! My mam has hardly any wrinkles, in fact her skin is beautiful and all she does is warm water on a flannel to open pores and exfoliate then cold water splashed onn to tighten pores. I think a lot of the time using products brings superficial benefits :) xx
