  • I'm suprised no one has mentioned Cyclax products - maybe cause they are a bit old fashion though they do have the Royal Appointment thingy - I can't remember what it is. I used to use the Evening Primrose and Grapeseed oil Face mask, worked very well when my skin was dry and dull, and tired looking. I haven't seen it anywhere for a long time now.

I've a friend who lives in Denmark who is mad about the Cyclax Green Tea Face and Neck cream. She is one of those tall willowy blondes with ice blue eyes, natural baby blonde hair and fantastic skin...she can't get it in Denmark but I send it to her or she picks it up when she visits.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

I would definately reccommend lidls cien ladies shave gel @ 79p. It smells really nice, and really moisturises your legs too. Its definately on par with the gilette stuff i used to use.

    Agreed, it's great stuff!

Hope I can add a useful two penneth here(for those of you who remember pennies!)I've found St Ives body lotions really good, Tesco, Sainsburys, Superdrug, Boots sell them and I get them when they're on a bogof, which happens fairly regularly - usually about £4 each for 400ml, they last for a good 2-3 weeks and I use it every day after showering. There are about 3 different types I think(skin firming, 24 hour moisture etc). Their face washes/scrubs are also good, buy them the same on a bogof! Also usually buy the cheapest supermarket brand mens shave gel instead of paying a small fortune for "womens" shave gel - works for me:) Just want to say thanks to every one for their great tips - first time I've joined a forum and first time I've posted:)so hope I can return the favour! Oh and I think I've seen some Cyclax stuff in Bodycare......

    Hi

Sorry if this has already been mentioned - the thread is very long to read all of the replies!

Tesco do their own brand VitaminE facewipes (not value ones). They come in a pinky coloured packet and are 28p. They are the best ones I've tried - and I've done the Johnsons, Boots, Natural Collection etc... they are really good! :rotfl:

Thanks Pozi for letting me know about Bodycare and Cyclax - sadly no Bodycare in RO Ireland but will definitely keep an eye out next time I'm back in UK.

My teen girls, Mum and I are all keen on St Ives too, like you we hunt out the BOGOF - we all have pet products so buy when we see and swap about. Mum loves the Whipped Silk lotion, daughters the Apricot Scrub, and me the Firming Mask which is hard to find but last time I used it hubby announced in shock 'what have you done to your face - it's taken 10 years off you!' - so it does work! ha!

Question - what is this bio oil you all know about? Did I miss a memo?

I totally agree, Cyclax suncream is amazing! Stays on all day and the 15 is good enough to protect my Irish complexion skin. Quite expensive to buy, but lasts forever, so probably works out cheaper than loads of others!

Also good - Tesco kids aftersun - pink and shimmery, smells like sweeties. I think it's £1.50 but it's always half price.

Jonson's baby top to toe is my travel winner, it's an excellent shampoo as well as shower gel and face wash and is good for handwashing clothes too.

Tesco value conditioner as shaving cream.

Another vote for the St Ives apricot scrub, it's the best, also seconding the vaseline and blue nivea shouts - I LOVE blue nivea!
Do you need it? Yep. Really? Yes! How have you managed for the last 28 years without it? Erm....
    NO NAUGHTY SHOPPING Bex.

I use Weleda's cold weather balm for baby's instead of 8 hour cream. it is amazing. Goes on cheeks, lips, nails etc... PLUS doesn't have horrible petro-chemicals in it like vaseline and eight hour cream and smells LOVELY. it comes in an orange-y tube. It is about £4.39?!

food-use rosewater for cleaning my eyes,

    I 2nd this

Faith in nature shampoo, £4.99 a bottle,

I also 2nd this but I use the tea tree oil one as I used to suffer from really bad itchy, flaky schalp but don't anymore but use it everyother day but I buy it in the big conntainer like bulk washing up liquid now and get cashback via Quidco!

pure coconut oil at the local chemist (not a chain, and always cheapest) for 49p.
I get the organic/ fairtrade stuff BUT it has so many usages. it doesn't stink massively, condidtions your hands like no ones business.!/QUOTE]
Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!

But don't you think Simple baby wipes do the very same job? (Usually only £1 something.)

Wilkos Vitamin E are 27p, and they do miles better than Simple :) xx
  • Apologies if this has already been mentioned..... Nivea care gloss & shine lip gloss. Costs about £1.99 from Savers.

I've got it in pink and a lovely chocolate colour. I'ts on a par with much more expensive lip glosses I have tried.

Bio Oil is in a White and Orange box and is normally used for Stretch Mark and Scar prevention / reduction. By all accounts its meant to be amazing, and can be used for all sorts. Never tried it myself as I cant stand greasy products :) Hope that helps xx
