Also try Semi-Chem. Beverley Hills Whitening Toothpaste is in there for £1.49 which is half the price of Boots and similar and I have quite stained teeth (Coffee and Smoking
); it really does work - my teeth were really whiter straight after I used it!
Mouthwash - you can't beat Asda's own Cool Mint about 50p. Tastes ok, not harsh like Listerine, Alcohol Free too
And my recommendation for hair colour is Poly-Colour by Schwarkopff (spelling, sorry) - it's £1.99 or less from Morrisons, Wilko, Semi-Chem, etc etc and it gives you a beautiful colour, covers grey hair and conditions your hair lovely. xx0 -
Waitrose PURE Eye Makeup Remover -£1.90 for 200ml
This is the business. Removes waterproof eye makeup as well . Leave the eyes refreshed and clean. It is not oily but like a cleansing water. No panda eyes in the morning.0 -
silvertree wrote: »Thanks for pointing this out - I was just having a quick browse and now have got totally sidetracked reading about OCM! I just wondered, do you do this every day or less, as I have been reading that it can dry your skin if you use it too much. And if you don't use it every day, what do you use the other days? I have dry flaky and blemished skin which is also sensitive and have been using Clinique 3step on and off but skin is still dry. I really struggle to find the best combination of products for my skin.
I use the OCM every night and just jojoba oil in the morning. My skins fine with it.
I have dry and hypersensitive skin and this is the only thing that works for me, I also use jojoba oil as a facial moisturiser which is great as it doesn't clog the pores.0 -
Love Clarins 'Beauty Flash Balm' but want something cheaper.....read on...
Years ago, I read a review of expensive vs cheap alternative facial products. I used to use Clarins Beauty Flash Balm but couldn't afford the price tag so I was interested to read that Superdrug did something similar but way more cheaper.
It's called NATURALHIGH RADIANCE BALM and it is approx £4. Smells gorgeous and I think it does the same job as the expensive Clarins Flash Balm.
Hope this helps someone.beckyjanecolley wrote: »I used this a lot when I was younger and found it to be brilliant!
I've read about Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, and am not entirely sure what it's meant to be used as? A moisturiser, a night cream, a make up base lol!
It would be great to know and also to find out where I buy Natural High fromxx

Ref the Superdrug Natural High Balm - its stil £1.95 online, but its £3 delivery!!!
Anybody know if its on offer in store at that price??0 -
I won't buy anything tested on animals, it's cruel and pointless, but there are loads of things that are cheap because they're not 'famous' and pricey. For instance, i use food-use rosewater for cleaning my eyes, best i've found (won't do makeup but great for sensitive skin) from a food shop, in a glass bottle, made in india, £1.25. You can even put some in cold water for the most refreshing summer drink ever. I use (really expensive) faith in nature Neem etc shampoo, £4.99 a bottle, because i have really oily hair, but i only want to wash it once a week: this is the only one i've found that rips the oil out without making it go all oily for the last 2 or 3 days: it's almost as good as new on day 6, so i only have to wash my hair once a week, so it lasts forever, so ultimately it's cheap. (If i wash it every day, it's disgustingly oily by 2pm: i had to train it.) The reason, i think, that it's so good is that it doesn't contain Sodium Laureth Sulphate/SLS, so it doesn't overstimulate compensatory oil secretion by the scalp. I only bought it because once i couldn't get to the body shop, and i've been a raving convert ever since: for someone without oily hair, i think any SLS free shampoo would do. Finally, you can often get 'miracle' products a lot cheaper if you buy them pure. For instance, pure rosa mosqueta oil ('miracle' anti-wrinkling/ageing ingredient) £2.99 from my local herbalist; pure cocoa butter, £1.50 for a lump from a carribbean beauty products chemist in london; pure shea butter, fair trade, far more for a big tub but far cheaper than pricey brands 'containing' it, online at the natural collection. If you make your own (you need some plastic tubs to keep it in) stuff such as rosewater, cocoa butter and olive oil lip balm is dirt cheap, as you don't need much 'miracle ingredient' in it, although, like food, it will go off if you make it with mucky fingers... Best of all, my mum found pure coconut oil at the local chemist (not a chain, and always cheapest) for 49p. She's allergic to nearly everything, but that's pure and fine. It wasn't on special offer, it was just cheap.
Hi can you please tell me where you get the shampoo from that you are talking about?0 -

I'm in RO Ireland - I was in Superdrug yesterday and the whole range was still on offer then - though of course in euros, there were only a few left on the shelf . My mum loves the stuff so dashed off to town today. No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -

Brilliant, thanks for that!! Might have a nip in to town at lunchtime as got a few errands to run!0 -
Most Montagne Jeunesse masques and tonics etc retail at 99p, though if you have a hunt around you can usually find them on offer or a little cheaper.
I swear by the orange face tonic. Perfect before a night out - it really makes your skin glow.It tightens pores and refreshes, and goes on feeling a bit tingly but it's sooooo relaxing!!!
I've yet to try their cellulite masque, but have ordered one - free delivery over £7 on their website, which isn't difficult if you're planning ahead. Their hair masques are amazing too - I tried one after living in Spain and having bleached the red (previous dye) out of my hair it was pretty frazzled, and it completely changed the look to healthy and not at all straw-like.
My other steal is Johnsons 24 facial moisturiser. At about 4 quid it's a bargain and lasts ages. I suffer from really dry skin on my face, and they make a nice one that's non greasy but deeply moisturising.
What else....(just raiding my dressing table lol)
Oooh, for anyone a bit spotty Boots 17 skin perfecting foundation is a steal at £5.49...a bit over 5 but well worth it. And it has an SPF so great for hols (can't actually use mine atm as is too dark)
Ooooh! Also those Collection 2000 mini nail-polishes. Great for fashion colours, and I think about £2 a pop. Hotlooks, that's the one! Oooh just had a look on boots.com and they're 2 for £3 at the moment.
Enjoy girlies! :beer:0 -
I needed to travel light recently, as the baggage allowance for my flight was fairly mean. I bought a bar of Lush solid shampoo (different varieties mostly costing £4.65, although a couple of them are a little more) plus a little tin to put it in (£2.50, but sometimes they give them away if you buy two bars of the shampoo). I was away for two weeks and used it for shampoo, shower AND washing my face - I still have at least half of it left.
I also took a tube of Nivea Soft (about £2 if you shop around) and that lasted the whole two weeks (still a bit left) as a day cream, night cream, and body lotion. The friend who told me about this product says that it can also be used to clean leather shoes!!0
