Unheated. Actually they're just on a windowsill under some cling film. Planted the seeds about 12 days ago now - still nothing
Sprouts are looking good though! Real progress there:)
Next weekend is planting mission part 2. Second tomato batch & brocolli. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Hi Kirsty.
Still no sign, but I am waiting patiently.
I'm a little worried about my sprouts, they appeared well, but have weakened. I hope they will be ok.
I'll be sure to keep updating!
I put up my greenhouse this weekend. The real work starts over the next couple of months...:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

If I use a large compost bag, do I plant more than one spud?
Hi Mrbad you need to throw the soft one away, dont want to have a crop that turns bad. Also when you plant your seed potatoes cover them with compost to about 3inch. then when you see signs of shoots cover them a bit more until they produce flowers, when the flowers begin to turn yellow then is the time to pick you potatoes. You should be able to store them for a good lkength of time with some care and attention.Look after the pennys and the pounds will look after themselves:money:0 -
oops forgot you would put 3/5 potatoes in a bag/pot but no more than thatLook after the pennys and the pounds will look after themselves:money:0

It generally takes a couple of weeks before you will see signs of any sprouting.Look after the pennys and the pounds will look after themselves:money:0 -
Right then - quick update.
I have lots of seedlings of chillies and tomatoes / kumatoes. Still got a few more I want to sow.
My dad's lent me his Mantis.

That should help. :j Didn't even know he had it. :doh:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I don't, as a rule, grow anything I can't eat, but have been considering growing something for bees (not actually for that reason, I just like bees). So, any recommendations that:
a) are zero maintenance
b) won't take over the garden
c) bees like?
Hyssop was really popular with the bees last year - has blue/purple flowers in summer. It's a spicy tasting herb.0
