People who put their feet up on bus seats.

My train usually fills up anyway, but I always ask the seat hogger to move first. It's the small courtesies that, if observed, make life that bit more pleasant. I put my coat and bag on the overhead shelf, they should too.
The bus or the train isn't your boudoir, so keep your shoes on please!"If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Yes, the world would be a nicer place if everyone in it was nice, but they're not. On the occasions where I haven't tried to put people off I have had people sit down right next to me and:- start a conversation about their religion
- start a conversation about their latest operation (in gruesome detail)
- start a really embarrassing, personal conversation with someone on a phone, very loudly
- start trying to involve me in the claim they're going to make against the train company for the train being so shabby
- spill beer down my trousers
- read over my shoulder and tell me how much they don't like sci-fi
- try to sell me the contents of their pockets (pills)
- pick their nose and eat it (this was an adult mind you!)
- sing
- complain for a solid 2 hours about how rubbish Britain is, how they hate Scotland and they want to go home (American tourist)
- tell me their entire family history and how Scottish they are (another tourist)
- spend 30mins pestering me about the crossword THEY were doing
- cough, scratch or sneeze without covering their mouth. On me.
- tell me "Don't worry, I'm not a rapist!". I wasn't worried until they said that!
I can understand people's objections to feet/shoes whatever. I'm aware it's bad manners, but there's been times when I'm just that tired I don't care. I woudln't do it in a crowded train though.:coffee:Coffee +3 Dexterity +3 Willpower -1 Ability to Sleep

Gosh! I'm glad I don't travel on your route! On mine, the same commuters travel side by side five days a week and they would rather die than actually speak to each other.
I come home on the same train as a woman every night. I happened to see her in Tesco one Saturday and smiled at her and she blanked me. And no, I hadn't previously asked her to move her bag..."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
You could call me a seat hogger too then. If I'm on the train I'll put my bag on the seat next to me, but only once I've had a glance at how full/empty the carriage is. If it's pretty quiet and there's lots of sets of double seats free I'll put it next to me, nothing to do with stopping someone sitting down, it's just that it's more comfy simple as. If the carriage is looking a bit packed or there is at least one person sitting at most sets of seats I'll not put the bag next to me, simples! Don't think I'm causing anyone a problem, if it's there and we stop at a station where there's lots of people waiting to get on, again I'll move it before they get on. Don't see anything rude there?
What I do find annoying though is when the carriage is pretty much empty with lots of spare seats and rather than sit on their own someone comes and sits next to you, I mean, why? surely you'd rather have more space to youself if you can?? It does bug me when people don't move their stuff when they can see people are struggling for seats though, a tram driver once told a woman to shift her stuff so someone could sit down, the tram was packed, the seat next to her was the only vacant seat on the whole tram and lots of people were standing up, that's just plain ignorant to be fair.0 -
I smell bullsh*t
op if it is true you need some anger management lessons or better still to be locked up in a padded room.
I'm sure what the op failed to mention was that the person he head butted, was a 10 year old kid on his way to school, and why he got flustered was because the kids were calling him a !!!!!! for staring at them.
Don't worry op, if this is your regular route to work you will be getting a battering quite soon, maybe even a razor blade or two across your face :rotfl:
Remember to mop up all your blood after, we cant have the dear old ladies slipping.
You will then become an internet sensation on youtube as the '!!!!!! that got owned' (im sure thats the correct saying that the yoof or today would use)
Happy traveling0 -
I am in absolute fits of laughter at the original post. I expected you to say that the little sh*t was putting his feet on the seats and it really irritated you but you thought best to ignore it for fear of being stabbed. Nope!!! Headbutting was in order. Classic. (Not condoning violence but found this particularly humorous!!):smileyhea0

The Police came and questioned me last night, turned out that the guy had to go to A & E to fix his nose.
I told them just what happened. They said not to worry, both of them had warrants out, the guy I butted was now in custody and they were far more interested in a description of his friend, what he was wearing etc. who has eluded them thus far.
I still have a sore head.
OP, you arent a 70 year old elderly woman are you? Please say yes....:rotfl::smileyhea0 -
To all the selfish !!!!!!s who use two seats: Please don't, you've only paid for one seat.0

I'm quite a considerate person and when I use the train or bus I use one seat because I've only paid for one. As it is public transport I have to accept that if someone gets on and sits on the seat next to me that is because they have paid for that seat and chose to sit there. I usually find that people don't strike up a conversation but on the occasions that they do I either join in if I want or politely smile/nod or give one word answers and put up with it until it is time to get off. It might be irritating that someone sits next to me when there are other seats, it might be annoying that someone tries to talk to me when I don't want to talk but I just accept it is one of the things that happens when using public transport and afterwards just get on with my day.0
