    Hi misschicken

Thanks for your post, the FOS aren't exactly inspiring confidence at the moment are they?

I haven't anything at all regarding my case since my last update here, not that I expected to ofcourse. They had in their last letter promised to "expedite" my complaint which at the time I percieved to be a thinly veiled attempt to assure me they might hurry up a bit, I wasn't and am not fooled.

It now 2 years since I took my complaint to the FOS and by July it will be 2 years since FD ejected my adjudicators recommendation and "forwarded" my case to the ombudsmen.

Are you at adjudicator stage or ombudsmen stage with your case?

Whilst I'm still waiting for the FOS to get a chuffing move along, I've taken the decision to settle the actual loan in full, this saves me from some £330 worth of interest. The PPI I had already canceled towards the beginning of my complaint.

If sometime in the longtime future my complaint gets settled in my favour.. I expect it to roughly match the settlement figure I've just made to the loan.

It's been four months since my last post here and it's been complete silence on the FOS parts.

I think a letter enquiring "what the dickens is going on?" is in order.

    Right!

So I have written and posted (as opposed to emailed) what I hope comes across as an assertive letter to the FOS.

As it's now nine months since they messed it up, and still no further progress... is really beginning to finish of the biscuits.
    Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to request a full and detailed update on my case. It has now been over nine months since my last correspondence from you, a letter dated 14 October 2011 apologising for sending me an offer made in error and promising to “expedite” my complaint thereafter.

Before the error was made I had been receiving updates every three months (and sometimes even more regularly than that) yet in the last nine months I have received no information from you at all despite having emailed various contact addresses on your website asking for updates.

Since it is now approximately ten months since the error was initially made, I feel that there has been time for some kind of movement in proceedings especially since it is now two and half years since I referred my complaint to the you in the first place.

I therefore respectfully request a follow up investigation and some assurance of the progress of my case.

    Kind Regards

Recieved a telephone call, apologising for the wait with the promise that management is looking into it and it is being referred to an ombudsmen.

Sounds all very impressive but it was "being referred" to an ombudsman already two years ago.
