Exactly the reason I am worried about this cheque. It is alright for a company rep to come on and say you will have it, but I mean come on, why would a cheque take 42 days to arrive? Even when I worked at Brittish Gas christ 5 days was frowned upon!
Get it sorted rep!
Hiya,
The initial 21 day period is to ensure that no return is live - we couldn't pay out autocashback before the returns period is entirely and unequivocally expired because as you might guess very few people would be eager to repay it... Also as I mentioned we are moving to using BACS instead of cheques because of the time factor amongst others, meaning payment will be made much, much more quickly in future - without needing a trip to the bankTREVORCOLMAN wrote: »Dont Mess about - you should have sent them a LETTER BEFORE ACTION as soon as the due date had passed. Then take legal action.
As per what the website and confirmation emails have always stated, payment is made within 21 days and the cheque may take up to 28 days to arrive - so no due date has passed.
OP - the cheque is a perfectly normal cheque, take it to your bank and cash it as normal.

Convenient (no due date). Which means you take as long as you want. Laughable how your company uses the English language; "payment is made within 21 days" when in fact "the cheque may take up to 28 days to arrive". In other words payment is MADE up to FIFTY-NINE days and the 21 days is completely and utterly untrue!0

Hello MJ,
21 + 28 = 49, not 59 - and as covered in excruciating detail earlier we ask customers to allow 28 days for delivery before we cancel and re-issue the cheque - most arrive much faster.
As I have already quoted from the website, payment takes 21 days to process, this "payment is made within 21 days" statement is something you have apparently come up with yourself.Mobiles_website wrote:Automatic cashback is a promotion from Mobiles.co.uk, where payment is automatically processed 21 days following the delivery of your phone which allows time for any phone returns. Payment will be a cheque sent directly from our parent company The Carphone Warehouse. After being processed, receipt of the cheque will take a maximum of 28 days which allows time for it to be raised, printed and posted to you.
Where did I say there is no due date? The "due date" hasn't arrived yet, is what I said in reply to someone saying that it had passed and court action should now be taken.
Anything else you wish to misquote, mistranslate or misunderstand? Or can we move on until/unless the OP doesn't get their cheque as advised? You might also note that as per my initial mentions a few months ago we're now very close to moving to BACS payments.

Hi,
This is the blurb from the site, when you click on Autocashback; could I ask where you saw 21 days without the advice about cheque delivery, so I can get this addressed?
Regards,
Hi, for info below is the email sent out by Mobiles or their agent notifying details of the cheque, therefore i would think it quite reasonable for a customer to expect delivery within 21days, expect the small claims court would see it that way as well if a customer was so inclined to go that route ....
Please do not reply this e-mail.
This email is to notify you that we have issued your auto-cashback cheque and you should receive it within 21 days.

Thanks sanfly - that should say "28" as this is referring to the despatch process, not 21, so I'll get that changed.

this "payment is made within 21 days" statement is something you have apparently come up with yourself.
Errr... these were YOUR words - I didn't invent them! As for the 49 days and not 50 - in my expecrience you don't stick to the number of days and my cheques always take nearer the 59.0 -
Thanks sanfly - that should say "28" as this is referring to the despatch process, not 21, so I'll get that changed.
Regards,
Im on 23 days today for 2 off auto cheques, here's hoping that Mobiles are true to their word and they arrive in the next 5 days.............sanfly0 -

1. Contact your bank. Inform them that the Direct Debit was not authorised and ask them to reclaim it under the Direct Debit guarantee scheme. You certainly did not sign anything
2. I hope that you have some proof that you cancelled the support. If you have an email or letter, excellent. If not, then get a copy of the phone bill showing the call you made to the gadget support telephone number.
3. Contact the gadget support line and tell them, nicely, that you cancelled on xx/xx/xxxx and they have made a mistake and to refund your money.
4. Keep cool!0 -
