it was also meant for other potterton boilers.. i remember it well as mine packed in at the same time

Does anyone know for sure whether the problems on potterton boilers included the kingfisher make please? I would like to know for sure, as I don't see why a boiler would keep locking out when it's under 4 years old...

  • Hi

The Suprima was their finest hour.Not.
The MF Kingfishers are no more prone to failure than any other.

Does this mean there isn't much grounds for me to write to them and ask about why it keeps cutting out I guess - it can be very annoying to have to keep resetting..

  • Hi

Aren't you waiting for a service from BG ? You signed up to Homecare or something didn't you.

Potterton won't be interested if the fault is with external controls , as yet we don't know what the problem is.

Well I had done, but was told it could take approx 8 weeks for me to hear anything which is a long time, so was also considering just knocking this on the head and getting a local plumber out to carry out a service for £70...

  • Hi

It might be worth telling him/her that the boiler locks out intermittently when you make the appointment.
It could be argued that they will view this job as a blank cheque and drag it out as much as possible, or they could come in do a service ,stick the flue gas analyser on it and say all is well and away they go. As it didn't lock out you are left with the problem.

Thanks Canucklehead, just trying to weigh up whether it's better to go with Homecare 200 or not.. A friend of mine mentioned it's good with regards to parts and visits if anything goes wrong.

Yes it was the Suprima I meant. Seriously carp quality PCB and it was the Suprima that was the subject of the programme.

They hid the fault, and made a fortune on new pcb's.
