Can you describe please what happens when you press the reset button on the boiler. Does it attempt to light at all? Does it light, burn for a short period and then go out? Do you see what I mean? What exactly happens - its that sort of detail..

Hi keystone, when we press the reset button it lights up and starts heating. It tends to not always start to heat up again when the heating drops below a certain temp and also if the hot water is due to come on at a certain time, the water doesn't always heat (as the light doesn't kick in)..This is a system account and does not represent a real person. This works out at approx £183. If I was to just get the boiler serviced anyway it wouldn't be cheap I'm guessing. Is this package ok?
Package Homecare 300 covers plumbing and drains
Package Homecare 400 covers home electrics
i would get the homecare 200 myself .
in fact i have homecare 200 on 3 of my propertysX British Gas engineer and X BG sales adviser.

if they come and pass it on homecare 200 and then it breaks down you are fully covered .X British Gas engineer and X BG sales adviser.

i wouldnt just get the service . they wont mend it .
and a local guy would only be about £40 for a service maybe lessX British Gas engineer and X BG sales adviser.

What's involved in BG coming to pass it? Once you join up will they visit, or do they wait until they do a service and pass/fail at that time? Hopefully it's all ok as we only just had in installed in 2006.

£70 is a lot for at most an hours work .
£35-£40 is more like it .

I taken out BG cover...use Quidco and get £30 (was £40 last month) CB. Also when youre on the BG page scroll down to Products and Services, then the Exclusive offers tab on RHS and you get 10% off boiler cover (plus my Quidco tracked!)0
