Phoned lastminute this morning, same reply: "our superiors are working on the matter and will get back to you".
There are some very good deals to Mumbai at the moment if you fly out off peak ie in and around september. Try https://www.lastminute.com/mastercard or http://www.mobissimo.co.uk/search_airfare.php to find the cheapest for your dates.
My booking is with Jet Airways, but BA/Air India/Virgin/BMI all have similar deals.
Getting hold of someone in the UK for lastminute.com is impossible. The call centre staff refuse to give any other contact numbers what so ever. I will wait till the end of tommorow and then perhaps email them? Or does the email get handled by staff in another country too??!!
Yes £300 is a good deal. However the fact remains that lastminute were selling this fare as business class, which was stated very clearly all throughout the booking process, confirmed by the call centre staff when I called them (before I actually booked), and then emphasised in the confirmation email they sent me once I had made my booking. So are they allowed to now change it to economy, even if it were a mistake?0 -
just keep at them and you should eventually get satisfaction. It doesn't matter whether £300 is realistic for a business class seat or not. If it was advertised as business class and really isn't then it was mis-sold. My guess is it will be cheaper for them to refund the money than upgrade the ticket. Airlines don't seem to be big fans of lastminute/ebookers etc dispite the sales they deliver. I shouldn't imagine the airline will co-operate with them.Timmay!0

And Tranmere. How did you get the Barbados flight?0

It isn't a case of deception. lastminute probably just made a simple error on its website/computer systems, it is highly unlikely that business class seats would be available at this price.
Price is important, how else does Ryanair fill its planes.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

If intent was proven that is deception, and criminal .
Have you links or employed by Lastminute?
Would you have accepted economy when you booked business ?To be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -
It is likely to have been a simple error.
I would not expect a long haul business class flight for £300, there is likely to be no intention to deceive.
Lastminute do owe some sort of compensation, especially since this likely error has been brought to their attention and thus reduced the possibility of other claims.

Well there are 3 types of seating on the flight, Economy, Premium and Excel One. With loads of legroom, lovely leather reclining seats, selection of 3 course meals, free drinks and free entry to the lounge at Manchester it was pretty good!!And Tranmere. How did you get the Barbados flight?
Booked online through Excel Airways about 4 weeks prior to departure
PS Edited to say 'sorry for the hijack of your thread'It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission0 -
Jet Airways are agreat Airline, both International and domestic, I've flown with them loads of times. £300 is a great price for Economy and it looks like lastminute had a "systems error" This has happened with other companies before notably Argos and Kodak (I think) In both cases they apologised but refused the honour the offers, as it was a "genuine mistake" If you get your business class flights - great. If not your still getting a great deal and flying with one of my favourite Airlines!0
