I read a lot of Stephen King when I was younger and I loved them. I dont think anyone should feel guilty about what they read. There's nothing better than a bloomin good story no matter who writes it, IMO!

True! Thinking of Dan Brown :)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a true story book but not an autobiography? that would be great as i really fancy reading something a little different as i normally just read chick lit and i love love love the twilight books

Another vote here for 'Are you Dave Gorman' by favourite by either Danny Wallace or Dave Gorman. Although I did love the premise of 'Join me' as well. And I LOVE stupid boy projects, shame I'm a girl and can't go on a mad mission really!

Hi setmefree2. It's good, but not as engaging as the Man And Boy era. He tells a good story from a typical bloke's point of view. But then I'm about to get to the reveal bit I think. Didn't really like 'Stories we could Tell' that was the last TP I read.

Confession : Last month, I had £7 in book vouchers, was dragged against my will (honest!) kicking and screaming into Waterstones, purchased aforementioned Tony Parsons, Elizabeth Gilbert and David Nicholls 'One Day' for a total of £8.58. I hereby declare this will be my last purchase until I've read everything else !

I've heard wonderful things about the David Nicholls book so that's next in my list.

As a teenager I read loads of Catherine Cookson cos I liked the stories. My tastes have changed over the years but starting out with those types books encouraged me to try others!
Anyway: Happy World Book Day everyone!

Well seeing as it's world book day I'll make good use of my need for an early night and curl up with one of my half read books - think it'll be an american history a future (or whatever it's called) as I'm too tired for my history book and I really shouldn't start Lovely Bones until I finish one of the other three I have on the go here.

    Indeed

Much better (and Pickle will tell us off if we all buy a new book today:))

Erm....yes?! I mean, I would like you all to celebrate in style, but we all took solomn vows not to buy any more books (didn't we, Different_Corner?!) and I think it would be adultering on the books we already own, and reinforcing their already low sense of self-esteem, to pass them up for even more books without reading them.

Think of your books. Think of how they feel when you go to the bookshop. ;)

P.S. I've got the croc postcard. In fact, I have quite a few 'World Book Day' postcards which I need to send. I shall have to do my best to write them and send them ASAP.

Hope you enjoy Lovely Bones. I tried very hard with Almost Moon but didn't get past the first chapter.

Finished Starting Over, wasn't overly impressed.

    Happy Friday.
