I've got so many books to read! I'm generally managing to read for about half an hour a day but wish I had the time (or ability to stay awake long enough) to read more.
I'm currently reading another Jeff Lucas offering (with Adrian Plass) I haven't found Seriously Funny as inspiring as Lucas on Life but I'm persevering.NSDs January - 3/8 2017 total - 3

I loved this book, but then, i do love J.K's style. It is a bit slow at the start, but i find that with all her books because she is giving soo much detail of the characters. It builds nicely with a (dont want to say this, but for a book) great/surprise, not soo much of a surprise; ending.
I caught the tv show the otehr night whilst in my parents (dont have a tv licence at home as dont really watch the tv) and it was good, but a bit to fancy/stylised cut, i felt. (the filming, not the acting)Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

I have the book and to be honest, a lot of what it contains is written about in the Konmarie thread in the old style forum. Also in the thread are Lots of links to YouTube clips showing the Kommarie way of tidying and sorting too.
Ive read most of the thread, but its not making me rush to my laundry and clear our re-fold in the same way others are discribing.
Is this this generations "Mrs Beatson's" books? haha

Reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth. So far its very good.
Having a big clear out/spring clean at home and cleared another pile of books out. Ones that I've read and wont read again or ones I haven't read but reading the description and trying to be realistic I won't read. Still lots to read but that made 2 boxes into one. 😊No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
Target for 2018 = 7/21

I finished The Glass Republic by Tom Pollock earlier this week, and it's ready to go back to the library. I cannot see that they have the follow-up Our Lady of the Streets, and it came out in paperback last year, so it doesn't look like they will be getting it in.
Doesn't look like they stock any of his books in the Wolvo library near my dad either. Fingers crossed my local library doesn't leave me hanging for the end of the series...
What a great little series this is so far! Whereas The City's Son concentrated on streetwise and lonely graffiti artist Beth and her new-found friendship with the son of the goddess Mater Viaie, Filius Viaie as they battled the Crane King to save London, this book focused on her best friend, Pen, who is keen to solve the mystery of the disappearance of her mirror sister Countess Parva Khan in London-under-glass. Great characterization, and a highly compelling story. I think book 2 is even better than the first book.
I have made a book purchase this week of Nina Allan's The Race - I have to read it for a project I'm taking part in, and it's not available in the library system. Got a discount from the publisher, though, so that was good.
As this was acquired mid-week, I have begun Wolves by Simon Ings. The beginning was emotional. Tight, beautiful writing setting us up for something bleak and apocalyptic.Keep reading books!

Finally finished #5, The Concrete Blonde, after a big push this week! I did enjoy it the more I read, and am quite looking forward to continuing the series but will read something else inbetween - probably the latest Kathy Reichs, which I was gifted for Christmas.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0

So I started #6, Kathy Reichs's Bones of the Lost, this weekend; despite having little free time I've managed to read almost half - really enjoying it! Hoping to pass this on next weekend along with a couple of others, which will also help my decluttering mission
I've seen that they've made a TV series based on the Michael Connelly series, which has made me even more determined to get through the books I have - might start the 4th one after my current book.
This may be the wrong thread to ask, but on the decluttering point: I usually give books I've read to friends/family or charity shops - does anyone manage to sell theirs, and if so where?MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Sundaysgirl: My husband will sell books via Amazon, but he's already got an account there, so I don't know if that's a profitable experience.
I finished Good Omens, which was good fun. Now reading Tom Brown's Schooldays, which is one of my Classic Adventures books, very small font and quite a number of pages, so I am not going to be able to get this read quickly... I'm also reading a 40-day devotional book, so it's going to be a little while before I finish either one!0
