If you have a kindle, please would you mind sharing which kindle you have, whether you have a cover for it / cover with light and whether you prefer your kindle over tree books or vice versa (kindle being used for holidays, take on the plane only type of thing).
If you don't have a kindle, please share whether you would love one or whether its just not for you i.e. can't beat a real book/smell of a book etc.
thanks in anticipation :j
Hi Flat Eric. I am one of the book lovers that can't quite bring myself to get a kindle. I love the idea of them but I'm just not sure I'd use one as I like having physical things (I don't really like digital downloads of music either - just feels like I'm buying something I never really get and also something I'm likely to lose in the hard drive!)
I would like one for holidays as I definately like the idea of only having to pack a small light things instead of 3 books!
What I'd like is if you could get a free Kindle copy of a book you buy (like the free digital copy of films you can now get on some DVDs) then I could read the book at home and take the kindle when I go out anywhere but continue the same story. It would mean I could keep my books in a nicer quality and have the convenience of the Kindle when I'm out.
As for a cover - knowing me I'd break it within a couple of weeks so I'd definately be happier if it had a cover. I like the ones with in built lights but they are quite expensive so might just get a clip on light. That's another think I suppose - if I dropped a book it'd just get dirty and dented, a kindle would be likely to break especially if I dropped it into mud or sand.
Hope all that helps! No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
Target for 2018 = 7/21
No more buying DVDs ? 2018 target 27/52

Kindles are pretty resiliant things - I've lost count of the number of times I dropped mine on assorted hard surfaces (concrete, and the slate tiles at work mainly) and other than a few small dints in the plastic it's suffered no harm even when I've not had a cover on it!It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

A girl who works for my OH has sent me two books to read as she thinks I would like them - they are part of the Agatha Raisin series, I don't know whether they are any good???
This month's book club book has been chosen and is When God was a Rabbit so I will be purchasing that tomorrow (probably Tescos).
I think I would like to take advantage of both. I cannot bear to consider withdrawing from my addiction of buying books from carboots and charity shops but I quite like my techy gadgets so would like to maybe run the two together (not that I am greedy or anything!)

I love the Agatha Raisin books - I've read all 22! They're very funny small-town crime mysteries - a bit like Midsummer Murders but with laughs. The author also wrote the books the Hamish MacBeth TV series were based on, so that gives a good idea of what the Agatha Raisin ones are like. Agatha herself is a wonderful character.
When God Was a Rabbit is a wonderful book about families and friendship and all kinds of other things. I read it really quickly as I enjoyed it so much and then read it again more slowly. I hope you like it too.0 -
The Agatha Raisin books are fab. I've read them all. I agree with the previous poster in that they are very light reading, murder mystery with smiles along the way, at the capers she gets up to. Would thoroughly recommend.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0
