    Hi folks, been a while!

Have a good few books on the go at the moment as all I have the energy to do once the children are in bed is sit and read.

    Am reading:

What You See Is What You Get - Alan Sugar's autobiography
Paul Burrell's book about Diana (can't for the life of me remember the title and am at work!)
Honest - Ulrika Jonsson (got from a charity shop but I have to say, I'm not really bothered about it, may not finish it)
Beg To Die - some random light crime author

    Have recently finished :

23-11-62 - Stephen King (the Master back to his best, really good)
Clarkson's latest (not good form to admit liking him currently but I like his humour MOSTLY!)
Piers Morgan's second book - yes he's unashamedly a name-dropper and 'sleb schmoozer but if you "go with it" it's entertaining enough.
Also, he has some surprisingly deep insights on politics and newsworthy subjects.

Unfortunately someone had a book on their dashboard this morning about 9/11 which looks AMAZING and is as big as a brick so I had to look it up on Amazon and will be getting that tonight. Will get the cheapest I can... not my fault, if I hadn't seen it....etc...excuses...etc...

Santa should be bringing a fair few books too so I'm getting through the ones I've got and not actually personally BUYING new ones so... I'm doing KINDA okay... right?

It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

    I have an 'in'. :o

It's Dracula, by Bram Stoker. I have 2 excuses:

    1) it's a big book and it was only £1 instead of £6.99 brand new from a proper bookshop;
    2) I got it as part of my order from the Scholastic Book Fair sale and each book is £1, but you have to order £10 of stuff, so it was getting me past the magic number (the other books are all presents for children for Christmas).

It looks really good - can't wait! :j

I don't usually read Stephen King as I'm a big wimp that can't deal with horror but I have to say that this one does make me want to read it - have you also read "Full dark, no stars"? That also sounded really good.

What was the book? Talk about cliffhangers!!

I liked Dracula - don't remember it being that long - though I may have read an abridged version! Or I have a bad memory!! :rotfl:

    I'd like books for £1! Although it's probably safer if I don't!

Blindtoast - the Stephen King isn't a horror this time, though I know you'd expect it to be. If I said it was about time-travel you might think, "oh, not for me.." but seriously, it's way more than that, it's a great book with fantastic characters and asks a lot of questions.

The "book on the dashboard" was The Eleventh Day by Robbyn Summers and Anthony Swann and is about 9/11 in depth. I have my own theories about that particular event and the guy reading it couldn't stop talking about it so.... that's going on order tonight!

  • I finished To Kill a Mocking Bird last night, stayed up 45 minutes past my bedtime to finish it (I am very tired this morning!), what a book. A really, really good book - very thought provoking.

My FIL has given me a book to borrow it is quite small so shouldn't take long, it is called the Auschwitz Violin so I will be starting that today.

I loved Dracula, it was great :D

I also like Stephen King, I seem to be collecting his recent ones but not actually reading them. I have on my bookcase off the top of my head, Duma Key, Cell, Liseleys Story but they are all quite big books so I keep putting them off :o
    Just keep swimming!
  • Last 2 books to read for my Goodreads 2011 Reading List Challenge.
I have started on 'The Critical Tradition, Classics and Contemporary Trends' 1,470 pages to give myself a bridging Challenge between this year and 2012. However got to make target so an audiobook, i am not good at making sure I read as electronic devices like tv take me away from reading and I end up reading in bed instead of on the sofa as part of my daily routine.
