Aw your cat is the spitting image of my little kitten Niko. Off to get him insured now, he's going to be a house cat (locals round our way are well just cruel - we found him in a bin bag in the street up from ours!) and never thought I'd need insurance. Better safe than sorry eh?
  • If my OH had ever said that, I would be seriously considering kicking his a**e right out the door! You did the right thing and he should have a guilty conscience!
  • Buttonmoons the Hills I/D is a special formulation for pusscats with gastrointestinal disorders so perfect for Archie and his poor wee tum right now. Quite honestly if both of your darlings are happy with that dry food I'd keep them on it. Knowing how contrary and single-minded cats can be it's a miracle that they're both enjoying the same thing at the same time! If you want to give them some wet food for a treat once a day, I'm sure that would be fine, too. Just have a chat with the vet to ensure that Hills I/D is OK for them both long-term as it could be that they might be better off switching to a different formula once Archie is back on form and climbing up the curtains once again.

So happy to hear that he's on the mend and you'll certainly be his favourite person once that nasty cone is off for good.

I too thought that insurance for indoor cats was a bit pointless - Doh! It's pretty cheap too, considering!

Archie has his cone off right now and is acting like his usual nutter self, he even bit the other cats bum (favourite past time of his) and is back to crying in the kitchen for whatever food *IM* eating.

It's nice! Though he went back to scratching the living room door - BOO!

Ah, thanks BitterandTwisted, makes sense that! I used to give them the indoor hills neutered variety, that you can only get from the vets and was cheaper than the I/D by about £8!! The other cat quite liked that too, so maybe worth switching back to that, and giving them some wet throughout the day too. I know Clio would smother me with her fluffy butt in the night if the wet food ceased.

I paid off most of the vet bill, well more than half anyways lol. £200 to go, I'll give them £100 when OH gets paid and then another £100 next month, may also have to buy the big scratching climbing cat tower they have there that's £40 (pretty cheap for the size of it) and does anyone know what that really good grooming brush is? Something ater?

Archie is so fuzzy, and it's chocking my hoover, need a decent brush for him!

Try raw - best wet food you can give them! Oh don't bother with minced beef though - mine both turned up their noses - I was fuming as it was human grade, Irish bla bla that I would have eaten myself! Try hearts, kidneys etc - that with dried food is an excellent diet for them.

I do feed them raw now and then, and funnily enough they love minced beef! It's their fave :rotfl: I have them both round my legs when I cook it waiting for their lumps!

I've given them raw chicken thighs, Archie loved it, but the other cat only licked at it for a bit and decided to howl at the cupboard for Whiskas instead, clearly too lazy to chew up her food!

I'll maybe go by the butcher for some hearts and kidneys then, I don't want to feed 100% raw, but maybe once or twice a week for their dinner.

Yey furminator, that's it! I'll order one once OH is paid, I'm sick of finding hairs in my sandwichs :rotfl:

Archie is pretty unusual looking, he is mainly white, with tabby splotches, and then his tail looks like a lemur! All black and grey striped, and if you look at his eyes, one of them is lined pink, and the other black. It's like someone put eyelner on one side and forgot about the other.

As OH says, it's like someone ran out of paint when colouring him in. Bless!

Have you tried them on Feliyne Fayre pouches? My two love them, the are 4 for £1 in Asda and have at least 60% real fish in them. I use these when I haven't prepared any raw for my two. My local butcher gives me a big bag of offal for the cats for £1 so it works out really cheap too!
