Grr, trying to sort out argos pet insurance online and its confusing me. It says it will give a 10% discount for each pet if you insure two, but doesnt actually give an option to add mr kitty #2 in as well? I dont wanna ring up, I want quidco :o

Also, Buttons, would you mind telling me whats in that i/d stuff and how much it is? Still having issues with the Scruffy bowel monster :( Orijen is ok for him but £22-£23 for 2.5kg and only lasts them about 3 weeks, well expensive, and I have to order it online cos nowhere stocks it, so once delivery is added on you're looking at £25-£26 for some bl00dy cat food, nearly £10 a week!!

  • Good grief Emlou, that's nearly what I spend to feed myself for a week! My boy Stanley is a very good boy, he likes the "expensive" biscuits from Lidl so he only costs me a quid a week in food these days. We've both tightened our belts and are looking shiny and sleek on it

I do miss the days when I had "normal" cats I could just feed any old supermarket dry stuff and not feel guilty about it not having a high meat content, I must say ;) they do say ignorance is bliss!!

Poor Scruffy, was the runt of the litter and the breeder was going to have him put down cos of the runny poop nobody wanted him :( cheeky mare wouldnt let us take him for free though, even though we were saving her the cost of the lethal jab, and still charged us £50, but IMO it was money well spent, he is a beautiful cat with a lovely nature and I wouldnt be without him, expensive food or not :o

Being allergic to chicken, grains and rice does narrow it down rather a lot though. He can have anything fish and potato based, but these foods are also hard to come by. If I could save enough to put in a bulk order it would work out cheaper, but cos I'm already paying so much, theres none spare for saving to bulk buy food! It is rather important that he has food he can eat, he has very fluffy trousers and he's had countless baths and showers when he's had a bad bout, or when we havent been in to catch him before he has a chance, he wipes it all over our bed/carpet while washing _pale_
    Cat poop everywhere, looovely

  • Poor little Scruffykins. I wonder if the Hills I/D would be suitable, when I looked it up yesterday the main ingredients were chicken and turkey but perhaps there's another formulation which would be better for him. I've just had a snoop and saw that 5kg bags can be got for about £30. That should last Scruffs for a bit shouldn't it? Maybe even cheaper than what you're feeding his lordship now

Hills I/D has chicken and turkey in it, it's 38.3% protein, and it does say keep them on the I/D for at least 2 weeks if they have explosive diarrehea. So it could be worth trying him on it? It is pricey though, I paid £20 at my vets  and thats for 2kg that included VAT (Shouldn't be VAT on vet related things HMMPH!)

Before Archie used to have quite soft mud pie poo's, the hills have sorted it and it's just very small really dark solid poo's now with no stink.

I honestly can't remember if he did aswell on the indoor neutered variety because I used to mix them with the lidls 99p biscuits to make them go further :rotfl: but I think it's those and the whiskas biscuits that give him a runny bum, the other cat seems to have a stomach of steel though.

Used to feed her whatever was on offer no problems, but archie just HAS to eat from the bowl first, even if he don't like it.

Em, I'm sure Argos only do a 5% discount online, how much cashback do you get? The reason I called was cause there was no option for 2 cats! But I think it's because if you have 2 cats, you get a multi discount which is about the same as the 5% one, and they probably don't want you having both. Just do 1 at a time I guess?!

£30 for 5kg is a brill price for that as my vets are pretty decent on the price of hill food, I paid about £12 for the indoor neutered bags (2kg) and Pets at home were about the same price but they don't do "indoor neutered" as that's prescription only.

Might just shove them onto hills indoor, so I can get 3 for 2 at Pets at home next time :rotfl:

Feline fayre, I've tried Clio on that before but she turned her nose up! The mare. I'll give them a bash though next time I'm at asda as Archie crumb bum might like it

:j:j:j Yahoo to no more stinky poos! :j:j:j

Buttonmoons: some of the Hills variants have a mixture of grains in, I would look at the ID ingredients and only choose another Hills kibble with the same carbohydrate source.

Emlou have you looked at the Fish4Cats kibble? That is fish and potato IIRC and cheaper than Orijen. If you want a high fish wet then Feline Fayre and Pets at Home Purely in the 160g tins are the cheapest for the quality. Apologies if I have made these suggestions before! :o

Noah loves all the Food4Cats raw mince mixes especially the beef and rabbit, but his favourite raw is chicken wings and the bone in rabbit chunks. My latest order has chicken hearts, pork tongue (only eat if cut really small ) and lamb breast (really fatty and gross :() which have been much less of a success.

Archie poo'ed on the floor last night! Ewwwwwww.

I think what had happened, was he turned round in the box to get to optimum position (makes it difficult for him with the cone) and his bum ended up hanging over the side, hence poo's right below the littlebox. That box is a hooded one (I've took the lid off until his cone is off) So his butt must off been really high to poo over the side, but he managed to get 1 piece in the box.

I caught him as he was trying to scratch at the poo on the floor

They aren't really scentless when they first come out :rotfl:

    LOL. What a great thread.

I'm sorry that your furball caused you so much trouble but I'll admit for the past couple of days you have made me smile no end :-)

You have such a fantastic way with words and even when things were bad with said creature, you still managed to maintain your sense of humour. I've been a bit down in the dumps for the past few days and often look on this part of the forum for pictures of cute animals to make me smile. Your thread is fab!!!

I'm so pleased he's getting better. And pooing on the floor is better than no poo I guess (OMG, never ever thought I'd says something like that lol)

And your picture should be captioned...... "Who? Me? I didn't do it mum, honest!"

Good luck to you all, (yourself, kitties and child. OH too I guess even though he's mean :-) and I'll keep reading.

And thank you for making me smile, I really needed it! xx xx
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)
